1099-Q Recipient who do I place on the "Select the recipient" on 1099-Q question in Turbo Tax if Box 6 is selected? My son was the actual person who received the money.

The recipient for 1099-Q purposes depends where the funds were sent. If money went directly to school, the student (your son) is the recipient.  Otherwise, the owner (your spouse) is the recipient.
