Tax advice

Hello,

I am a disabled veteran,my only source of income is my VA disability benefits. I have been informed by the VA that it is considered nontaxable income and does not need to be reported.

I do not have a business or recieve income from any other source. That being said,I have not filed taxes sense 2015. Am I at risk of legal action for not doing so? Even though I have nothing to file? and don't owe any back taxes?

No, you are not a risk at all.  Since your VA disability benefits are not taxable income they are not reported on a tax return.  If you have no other type of income from any source then you have no need to file a tax return.
