Social Security and Medicare taxes are not withheld from pension payments on a Form 1099-R.
No you don't have to pay social security tax on military retirement pay so you won't see that information on your 1099R. Military retirement pay is subject to federal income taxes. However, because it is not considered "earned income," it is not subject to payroll taxes(Social Security and Medicare).
