No longer in military

Correct. If you did not "Serve in the US Armed Forces in 2016 (active, guard, or reserve)?", check "No" in the Personal Interview.

If you did "Serve in the US Armed Forces in 2016 (active, guard, or reserve)?", even briefly, check "Yes" in the Personal Interview. This will prompt you to answer a number of military-related tax questions,
