FORM 8812  is used by to calculate and report both the Child Tax Credit and the Additional Child Tax Credit.

 

Your nontaxable combat pay is listed on Form W-2, box 12, with code Q.

im having the same issue, it says that theres an error with form 8812 combat pay, i entered everything exactly as on the w2. turbo tax says i need to fix it but doesnt say how.

There was a hold on returns with the 8812 Combat pay exclusion.  Please try reviewing your return again.

we are retired and have not children at home all grown  and gone   why did this form show up in the final review

Revisit the Child and other dependent Tax credit section and answer all the questions. Make sure to indicate that you didn't receive any Advanced payments.

 

  • Login to your account.
  • Select Federal from the left menu.
  • Go to Deductions and Credits.
  • Scroll down to Child and Other Dependent Tax Credit.
  • Continue to the screen "Tell us about any Advance Child Tax Credit Payments and select NO
