@macuser_22 is this a MAC version thing? I don't have this issue on windows with the H&B version of TTX 2018. @delugach note also that you will not be able to finish the rental section because the 4562's and a few other forms you may need for that, are not finalized yet and are therefore not yet included in the program.

Are you sure that you are using the 2018 software?
Look at the top of the desktop program screen, it should indicate the Edition and Year, ie TurboTax Premier 2018.  Or click on Help and About...will have the Edition and Year.
If you have the correct software then make sure you have updated to the latest release.  Click on Online at the top of the desktop program screen.  Click on Check for Updates.
The 2018 TurboTax desktop edition does show 2017 and 2018 as the tax years on the Rental Summary Screen.  And when entering actual expenses or actual income.

Yes, I'm quite sure it says Turbo Tax 2018. The summary screen shows the correct years, but the detail screens still show 2016 and 2017. Here are my steps. Wages and Income, choose what I work on,
Rental Properties and Royalties, Update. Skip through boilerplate info. Rental and Royalty Summary, click Edit on the property. Rental Summary shows 2017 and 2018 amounts. Click on Update for either Rental Income or Expenses. Display clearly says "2018 Rental Income" but the column headings show 2016 and 2017. I suspect that all will work as expected, but it is quite confusing.

Some things are not updated for the new tax laws but that is pretty sloppy if true.  We can double check tonight.

What is the version of Turbotax (year and build) you are using?  Look at About Turbotax in the menu.

The version numbers are all different on my Windows version of H&B. But I'm seeing what I claimed for 2017 (as I should) and it's asking me for 2018 data. Sounds to me like the MAC programmers haven't got it together. 🙂

Here's a similar thread from another Mac user a few days ago, but user never did report back.
<a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/4509542-the-rental-expenses-section-shows-2016-and-requesting-2017...>?

Uh-oh. Although I can see it, it may have been archived and hidden to users.  Perhaps that is why that user didn't report back.

Yep, it's been archived. I can't see it.

You mean the numbers of the column headings are wrong?  Did you check to see if the actual numbers given are correct, that the 2017 numbers are in the 2016 column?

The column headings are wrong, but the numbers are in the right place; i.e., the number appearing under column 2016 is in fact last year's (2017) totals, whereas the entry to be filled in for this year is under column 2017. I wish I could post a picture but it looks something like:
   2016                           2017
  <last year>                 enter this year's numbers
It seems quite clear to me that the column headings for the individual amounts are wrong. They do not appear to have changed from last year (where 2016 would be the previous year and 2017 the current year). If they said 2017 and 2018 as column headings, I wouldn't have said anything.

We pretty much understand what you are seeing.  It's not really necessary, but if you want to post a screen shot, you can add an image to your original question above.   Go back to your question title and just to the right of it is an EDIT button.  Click Edit, then scroll down to attach an image file.   CAUTION:  This is a public Internet forum.  Do not post any image with personal info.  Be sure to redact anything sensitive.

We've mentioned this thread where TurboTax Moderators will see it on Monday (they are closed for the holidays) so the product development team can investigate that.

In the meantime, perhaps @Opus 17 or @macuser_22  can run a Mac scenario if they have the capability.

This "rolling forward" of the column dates is a function that takes place for a number of screens at one time and it has not yet been executed for all parts of the 2018 program, but it has absolutely no impact on your return.  The program is fully aware of which numbers are for 2017 (even though the column heading still says 2016), and which are the new numbers for 2018.  It is strictly a visual error that will be fixed.
