Sold stock. Withdrew funds. How do I report this as far as taxes are concerned? (ex: wait until next April 15th to report, do I need to fill out a form now, etc).

If you sold stock in 2018, you would need to include your 1099-B and file a return, unless you are under the filing requirement. This is not your gain on the stock, but the proceeds reported on the form. You will need the Premier Edition.

Single Under 65

  •  $12,000
  • 65 or older $13,600

Married filing jointly

  • Under 65 (both spouses) $24,000
  •  65 or older (one spouse) $25,300
  •  65 or older (both spouses) $26,600

Married filing separately

  • Any age $5

Head of household Under 65 $18,000

  •  65 or older $19,600

Qualifying widow(er) with dependent child

  • Under 65 $24,000
  •  65 or older $25,300
  • 65 or older $25,300

Thank you - your response is so fast! That same info applies to selling stock in 2019, correct?

Yes, but the filing requirements will probably be adjusted for inflation. I'm glad this was helpful!
