Should I continue to report professional license fees even though I have not actively consulted or profited for more than 3 years? (semiretired)

As a retired company geologist, I did a little profitable consulting more than 3 years ago.   I still maintain my license and pay association dues; however my main activity now is actively volunteering to for various organizations and schools with respect to geologic career development.  Since I make no money, should I stop reporting dues in the business section (just zero it) ?   Our other income is pension and my husband's salary.   My husband also has a separate profitable small business.

You should NOT prepare a business return and deduct business expenses if you are no longer in business.

You may be allowed to report professional license fees as an itemized deduction related to your volunteer work.
