We ourselves sold no investments. TDAmeritrade bought and sold stocks, etc., throughout the year in our accounts. How do we answer this question?

Answer Yes  to the question "Did you sell any investments in 2019?"  TurboTax will then ask you about the trades reported in your TDAmeritrade account.  You can import your Ameritrade 1099-B into your return -- just follow the instructions on the screen.

@Irene2805  - but what about if all the buying and selling was in their IRA / 401k?  it's an assumption that the question pertained to non-qual accounts; the question was never clear on that point.

If you have a financial advisor buying and selling as your Agent, it is the same as if you did it personally.
