I found this answer in the forums, but it's not working for me:

The issue is that when I put in Property Taxes and Interest in while going through the expenses for my rental, it's not automatically splitting it into Schedule E and Schedule A. I can manually do the calculations, but Turbo Tax just seems to want the values from my 1098 when I work the Schedule A. Obviously it's more complicated than that...
FWIW - Rental until 4/30/2020. My wife and I re-occupied the home 8/1/2020.
Thanks in advance!

When entering the interest in Schedule A, mark the box that says "The interest amount is different than what's on our 1098. The next screen gives you a box where you can state that part of it goes to your rental.
If you still have problems, delete the Home Mortgage Interest Worksheet and Home Mortgage Interest Worksheet Explanation Stm and re-enter your information.
