I lived in a half way house for 2 months while working W2 is that money considered earning money while incarcerated, halfway house etc? I paid rent to live there?

Any monies earned while an inmate or while living in a halfway house are NOT considered earned income for EIC purposes. Otherwise, you may file as usual.
