Thanks for the suggestion!! I started an online version and then just skipped all the required information on income and went straight to import my brokerage account. I hit the link for JPM and it took me to my online JPM account and they texted me a code which I then input into the downloaded version of Turbotax which then allowed me to import the files. There is no need to save the online version and then re-open in the download version of Turbo Tax. Took me five minutes, which is way better than manually importing everything.
Has there been any response about Chase or JP Morgan?
When you type on the link nothing happens. I do not want to type manually either.
Brilliant!!! You do have to enter quite a bit of personal info before you have the option to import you 1099's but as OverUnder suggests: But once there just take the code they text you and type it into your TurboTax Premier and Voila' like magic your connection is made. Thank you for the suggestion! Yes I am super disappointed that TurboTax did not resolve this problem or communicate this work around by email. They literally just stopped trying to solve it and posted an error message. They never emailed any closure to this issue ... good or bad.
The area that is supposed to have they hyperlink does not have a link. There is NOTHING to click on! I bought this product specifically for the benefit of being able to import my tax documents. I have many accounts and lots of stock transactions. It's 10 days to the tax filing deadline and you still don't have the problem fixed!
Adding a hyperlink should be an easy fix!
Some people claim they were able to work around this problem by using the Chase bank import instead, but that isn't working either! A message pops saying to try again Oct 1st 2022! This is unacceptable.
Turbo tax should be offering refunds for this MASSIVE failure.
It's still not fixed. Neither Chase or JP Morgan Securities imports are working. 10 days before the filing deadline and I can't import! This is infuriating.
It's still not fixed!
OverUnder,
Brilliant! It worked and thx for the suggestion.
That link shows
April 9 2022 - still no identification code button to click on my Mac. I will remember that I had to enter all this by hand when next year comes around.
I am finding exact same problem here.
PLEASE FIX ASAP!!! or I will not be able to file on time.
No, but if you read some of the replies there are a couple suggestions. OverUnder said to start an online TurboTax file. Skip all the input and go straight to income to import the tax documents. He said once you get the identification code there, instead of importing online, go back to your computer and put the identification code in there.
I haven’t tried it yet, but another person said it works. Another person posted a link to logon to Chase. Not sure how that is supposed to work, but it’s another thing to try.
I’m just appalled that Turbo tax hasn’t fixed these problems they were made aware of the problems a long time ago. I’ve done programming and I know that adding a hyperlink is simple.
I may need to consider an alternate program next year.
Exactly. This is a massive customer support failure for TurboTax.
It is now April 10 and the problem does not seem to be resolved. Still cannot get code to get data from JP Morgan.
