It is asking about the days the room was rented compared to the number of days it was not. On the days it was not rented, it was available for your personal use.
If you rented the room for 143 days, there are 222 days of personal use.
Thanks for the response. I entered 143 rented and 222 personal use but I cant submit. It says that you indicated this as owner occupied rental property. Days personal use should not be more than zero.
Don't enter any personal days. Enter 0 for personal days. Once you place a portion of your home into service as a rental then that portion of the home is no longer used personally, so your personal use days once you have a rental will always be zero. Days used personally before or after the rental is in service do not count as personal days.
