Cannot import from Morgan Stanley wealth management-have been able to so for the past several years but not today ( Feb 18,2023). The info is on the MS site so I can enter manually but I get a popup saying TT can't import. Why? Morgan Stanley says it's a TT issue as the person I spoke with said that others have also called about the same problem.
When will it be fixed or is there a work around

I have the same issue. please let us know when this is resolved.
I have also logged the issue with Morgan Stanley -- and have validated that i am using all the right credentials, and I too was able to do this last year. Note that I have been using Turbo Tax and Morgan Stanley since the 1990's
I am using Turbotax Premier
i HAVE THE SAME ISSUE

It doesn't import for me. Using correct SS, Username/Pword. No luck.
If you are using TurboTax Online, you may want to try a different browser or try clearing out your browser's cache and cookies. Please see How do I delete cookies? and How to clear your cache for more information.
Please see What if I can't import my 1099? and be sure to review the Troubleshooting section for instructions.

I'm using the downloaded software and not the web-based version. For whatever reason it just seems like the handshake between TT and MS just fails.
Have you tried signing into the Morgan Stanley account on your web browser before starting the import into Turbo Tax? I have saw other users who were successful in importing by doing this.
Please let us know if this was unable to import still. @CatDaddy1
Just tried it. No problem logging into the account on a web browser. But TurboTax can't do the same thing.
But I did just resolve it! I found that Morgan Stanley has a "Third Party Data Sharing" permission that needs to be enabled on their website. That fixed it. Hopefully others in the future might find it useful to know that it's there and something to check.
I have confirm that Third party data sharing is enabled in my Morgan Stanley account but importing 1099 data doesn't work. I get the message:
This import was unsuccessful.
There isn't any tax-related info to import right now.
No problem - we'll help you enter the information
return.
Contacted Morgan Stanley and they see no issues with account setup and 1099 data is available. They believe it's a TurboTax issue.

I too continue to have problems importing 1099 tax data from Morgan Stanley Wealth Management. I've attempted this import every year since 2021 and it always fails with:
"This import was unsuccessful.
There isn't any tax-related info to import right now
No problem - we'll help you enter the information
and continue with your return."
I have called Morgan Stanley and they have confirmed that Third Party Data Sharing is enabled. They see no issue at their end so they think it's a TurboTax issue. For me, it seems unique to Morgan Stanley since I have been successful in importing data from two other financial institutions. Unfortunately, I seem stuck in the middle.
I've disabled my firewalls with no change in this issue. Does anyone have any other ideas? Otherwise, I'll have to enter the data manually which is a real pain.
I did call TurboTax support regarding this ongoing issue of unsuccessful import of 1099 data from Morgan Stanley Wealth Management. After inquiring with others, the support rep was unable to suggest any corrective action. The recommendation was to enter the data manually. Of course, this doesn't resolve anything.
same issue here. I imported in previous years with no problem. I enabled the third party data on MS
Very frustrated and I think this should be a TT issue.
