RENT
There is not a rent deduction or credit on your Federal return. If your state has anything for renters you will be prompted to enter your rent info when you complete your state return. As far as I know, the states that have anything for rent are Arizona, California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Indiana, Iowa, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Vermont, Washington DC, and Wisconsin.

Thank you. Yes, Michigan. I don't know why I wasn't prompted to enter my rent info in my Michigan tax calculations this year when I was prompted in years past.
Did you already e-file? If not, then you need to take a closer second look at the state return and go back through the screens again to enter your rent. If you already e-filed, you will need to wait for the return to be accepted or rejected and then either fix it and re-file if rejected, or amend after processing if it is accepted.
I went back through everything three times. No place to enter my rent.
There are a lot of Michigan forms that will not be ready until the end of January. So you might have to wait for the forms.
Gosh. It would have been nice if TurboTax would have acknowledged that as they had done in the past. Thank you for your kind assistance.
