I was in an apartment building fire last February. A gofundme was started for me and I received almost $8000. Will I get a 1099 for that and have to put on my return?

I assume I have to put this on my return but I just want to make sure because when I tried to google this, I got several different answers. I want to file my taxes but have not received anything from Gofundme

Those funds were gifts. Gifts received are not entered on a tax return, regardless of the amount received.
