I am unable to complete filing as the State portion is asking me for landlord info, though I did not rent...can anyone please help?

I am unable to complete filing as the State portion is asking me for landlord info, though I did not rent...can anyone please help?

It sounds like it picked up somewhere that you were eligible for a benefit as a renter.  With the state programs, sometimes it is hard to find the exact source of the problem and the quickest fix is to reset the return by deleting it.

 

This solution generally takes just a few minutes to do, since the majority of the data feeds from the entries you made in the federal program.  Follow these steps to reset your state return:

  1. Login to TurboTax.com.
  2. Click on the State menu in the center of the program, or the menu on the left.
  3. Click on Delete beside your state. 
  4. Click on Add a state to add the state back in, and continue without this issue. 
**Say "Thanks" by clicking the thumb icon in a post
**Mark the post that answers your question by clicking on "Mark as Best Answer"
