How can I eliminate duplicate download from my financial institution on schedule D capital gains a d loss?

How do I eliminate duplicate electronic download of capital gain and loss on schedule D? I was informed that I had a corrected 1099 and down loaded it on top of the one that was in the tax return originally. I now have double the gain and loss. How do I resolve this issue?

Delete the original import. Your corrected 1099 has all the entries.

In the TurboTax CD/Download software, you can delete imported items as follows:

  1. Open your return.
  2. From the TurboTax File menu, select Remove Imported Data.
  3. Select the item(s) you want to remove and follow the on-screen instructions.

Sir/Madam:

There is no “Remove Imported Data” heading under File heading in the 2019 TT Premier version! Headings are “File a return”, “Save for your Records”, “Final Steps”, and “Check E-file Status"

You have to import financial data first before the Remove Imported Data will be available.

You did Not import the 2018 TurboTax tax data to the 2019 tax return, that is a transfer, not an import.
