April 1, 2023 My problem seems to be that TT does not seem to recognize Fidelity even though it is listed as one of their partners. I've used TT for years but this year it doesn't work. When I try to log into intuit, the program shuts down...I get msgs that say no internet connection (which is b.s.), I saw one trouble shooting msg that said to hardwire the connection because there were problems with wireless (I call b.s. on that also--I went ahead and hardwired my connection but still got the same msg). Every place I go in the "help" section seems to drive me toward upgrading TT and/or sign up and have one of their experts do my taxes for mega bucks.
Please see our Help Article which provides troubleshooting steps for importing your 1099.
The quoted article does not shed any light to resolve the problem for me.
Correct - Fidelity is a partner. If you have attempted all workarounds, updates, and troubleshooting, please reach out to us directly using the Help Article here. This ensures you will get to the correct department as quickly as possible.

My experience exactly. I followed the "recommended fix" item 'load your 1099-B manually', all the while thinking this will be the last time i do this. TurboTax folks, this is a hassle and potential error source asking the end-user to manually enter data. It also dwarfs the price of the software with the time i spend on entering it. My impression with Intuit is that as a company you have lost your edge in meeting customer satisfaction.
do it online, then import from online to desktop. It s only working solution as of today
I just called Intuit. There is still an open ticket for investigating the problem with importing from Fidelity. The rep I spoke with added my contact (email) to the ticket in case someone from Intuit wants to reach me regarding this issue.
Are you serious? Help File, this is a joke isn't it, most of the people complaining like myself have been TT users from day one. I like the comment to import manually? . It seems the longer this goes on , you have every TT so called expert chiming in on a solution. This should have been resolved on 3/12 when the first of the 1099's came in, my only complaint with Fidelity is at least with Interactive Brokers they offer CSV, PDF, TXF files so we don't have to communicate via TT, can import, directly.
It is being looked at, however we know that in the meantime people choose to file the return now as opposed to waiting. So we do offer the workarounds on how to import the 1099 in the meantime.
If you have tried all the tips, tricks, and workarounds, that is when it is suggested to give us a call so we can better assist you. @mjpb52
The only known work around is to open an online return making sure to upload last years information.
Do the import online.
Download the information so you can use the download/CD version.
In response to the comment to use the online version. I purchased a desktop version for the very specific reason that I have no desire to share my personal income data with Intuit or any of its partners or anyone who hacks into their fortress in any way shape or form. No thanks to any suggestion to use an online version, no thanks to the programming group that cannot solve this issue within 48 hrs of notice. No thank you to a management group that truly is out of touch with a core expectation requirement of the end user and believes that they have adequately assigned resources to keep their customers. No thank you Intuit.
Carissa - TurboTax has been looking at this issue for the last 2-3 weeks…
Can you please provide a case number so we can call and expedite this request? At this point this should have been resolved not being looked at.

This is the case number I was given that is tracking the issue with importing from Fidelity: INV-22509.
Ditto your comments, @Skyskier1 . This thread is now at 18 pages so you think the issue would get some priority now that we are only about 2 weeks from the filing deadline. Fidelity is one of the largest brokerages in the US and very popular among folks who manage their own investments. Likewise, TurboTax is the largest online tax software provider, and is in no way lacking the resources to fix this issue. There would have to be a breakdown somewhere in management -- the folks that give the programmers their assignments / deadlines.
I did the online version work around in the event they do not get it fixed for desktop. So I have a return that I can file, but basically I had to do my taxes twice. It's a complicated return and I found their online software clunky and less flexible than the desktop product. Lack of a "forms" mode in the online version is a huge negative for folks that are tax savvy. But in the end I was able to replicate the return I did in TT desktop, and the Fidelity import of about 2,000 stock sales (the dreaded 1099-B) did work.
Can TT offer us any reassurance that this will be fixed in the next software update?
I am experiencing an issue when trying to import my 1099 from Fidelity. Upon clicking the import button, I notice that the screen doesn't display the fields to enter my username and password. I have attempted to import through Fidelity - Net Benefits, which does display the necessary fields. As the tax deadline is only a few weeks away, I am curious when a solution to this issue will be made available.
