After 3 days of '1099 forms not available for user'... I now get 'This import was unsuccessful. We recommend you check your internet connection.' Is this a joke? Is 500 Mb/s ok?
Chatting with E-trade Customer Service says "turbotax has a major problem and should be resolved by 2/18." That's all he knew.
But I think it's E-trade because reading solutions from their site on how to "download tax documents into tax preparation software", it says to click on 1099 download button and then can upload into turbotax. When I clicked on the little down arrow all I got after quite a bit of time was a blank screen on another URL. So I would guess E-trade isn't showing the document to TurboTax. When I questioned that with chat guy, he said I would need to talk with Tech guys. I quit at that point and came here.
You actually got into a chat with Etrade? How'd you manage that?
They gave you the date of 2/18 huh? They told me 2/16 a few hours ago, I guess they adjusting or maybe just kicking the can down the road a bit.
Hello, I just talked with E-trade and starting 2.16.23 the error should be resolved. E-trade has to process a software update for the transfer to be allowed.
Today is the 15th of February and still receiving message "1099 not available for this user" ugh. LOL. tell me I'm not going to have to enter these documents myself...line by line? Am I in a nightmare? Can anyone expound on this phenomenon for me?
I'm getting the same error and entering manually is not an option.
Read the responses above you. Several people have contacted both Etrade and Turbotax and posted their info here. Feb 18th at the latest. We'll see. Actually, Feb 18th would be great. April 18th, not so much.
The download works for me in E*TRADE, but that generates a pdf file that is not uploadable to TurboTax. Only good for manual entries.

Just tried to import my Etrade 1099 into TT. Got the following message:
"This import was unsuccessful
There isn't any tax-related info to import right now.
No problem - we'll help you enter the information and continue with your return."
It is 2/15 and same message for me. I called E*TRADE and they said it will work tomorrow.
This is really frustrating. I call etrade they say to call TurboTax. I call turbo tax and they can’t tell me anything. I’ve been trying for 5 days to get this to upload and it keeps saying documents not found.

Same problem here. Successfully imported transactions from every financial institution except for E trade. Is this going to be fixed or what? Today is 2/15/23
