e form Royalties receiver not reported else where

Federal taxes won't let me file my taxes because I they don't like the zero. I have no royalties. If I had hail damage & the insurance cover for a new roof but did not charge me anything. Would that be a royalty?

No - the insurance payment would not be considered a royalty.  It sounds as if a royalty entry form was generated inadvertently.  To remove the form, please follow these steps:

  1. Click on Federal  > Wages & Income
  2. Scroll down to the Rentals, Royalties, and Farm section and click on the Start/Revisit box next to Rental Properties and Royalties (Sch E).
  3. On the Income from Rentals or Royalty Property You Own screen click Yes.
  4. After a few screens, you should see the Rental and Royalty Summary screen.  Click Delete next to the royalty.
  5. Click Done.
