Does loss in private sale of small business stock offset gain in listed securities gains?

The loss incurred on a private sale of stock from a small business is a capital loss. It can be used to offset any capital gain on listed securities.

You enter the sale in TurboTax just as if you had received a form 1099-B form a stock broker.
