You should enter your sale as a capital asset. See Where do I enter the sale of a second home, an inherited home, or land on my 2024 taxes? You will have to enter your basis or you will have to pay tax on the entire amount.
A 1099-S reports a transaction that consists in whole or in part of the sale or exchange for money, indebtedness, property, or services of any present or future ownership interest. Generally the closing agent issues the form, but if you do not receive one you must still report the sale. If you have questions with the entry, please post again.
