Adjusted Basis of Home Sold Worksheet not working?

Sold two dedicated rental properties.  Completed the "adjusted basis of home sold worksheet" and I believe line 17 should flow to line 6 of the "Home Sale Worksheet".   The number wont transfer, it seems to be automatically derived from TurboTax historical data (e.g. purchase price, depreciation etc) and I can't manually override it either.  There's no errors in the sheet, what am I doing incorrectly?  Is there another way to increase the adjusted basis other than the worksheet that you're supposed to do it on?

To clarify

Did you report the sale in the Rental and Royalty section?

Line 17 of the Home Sale Worksheet asks about a 1031 exchange.

It's seems to be showing up twice.  In the Step by Step view its appearing under Sale of Business Items and also under Less Common Income: Sale of Home, but the numbers are different.    In the Forms view seems the following are completed Form 4797, Schedule D, and Schedule E.

There was no exchange of property.  We sold 2 properties for profit.  The box is check no on line 17 for each as there wasn't a like kind exchange.

If you sold two rentals and did not use section 1031, only report the sales in the rental section under Sale of Property/ Depreciation.

(Go into Rentals, edit the property, enter any income and expenses for 2021, scroll down and enter the sale, complete the interview. REPEAT for the remaining property)

Depreciation recapture will be listed as ordinary income on Schedule 1 of your 1040

Capital gain (if any) will be on Schedule D

Do not report the sale under Personal Income
