In TurboTax Online, you can enter multiple 1099-C forms by adding each one separately in the Income section. To enter multiple 1099-C forms: 1. Go to the Federal section and then Wages & Income. 2. Scroll down to Less Common Income and select Start or Revisit next to 1099-C Cancellation of Debt. 3. After entering your first 1099-C details, look for an option such as Add another 1099-C or a button to add another entry. 4. Repeat the process to enter the information for your second 1099-C form. If you do not see the option to add another form, try completing the first entry and then returning to the 1099-C section again to add the second form separately.

This thread is a disgusting reminder of the immense hidden cost of using TurboTax. I came here because a client of mine had used TurboTax and failed to claim depreciation for a decade. Notice how many people on this thread used TurboTax to file their rental property taxes for YEARS and failed to claim the depreciation because TurboTax never helped them to claim it, which resulted in an increased tax liability of tens of thousands of dollars over the years, AND the need to pay tax when the depreciation was recaptured when they sold the property. And if they want to correct the mistake that was caused because they used TurboTax, they must pay extra to file an amended tax return or a Form 3115. It's a shame. This is not the only area where TurboTax makes people think that they are preparing their own taxes correctly for a few hundred dollars, but in actuality, they are missing out on thousands of dollars of deductions and credits that they would be able to claim if they paid a couple hundred dollars more to an actual CPA. (Another area is when taxpayers have children in college who receive more scholarships or grants than their tuition. TurboTax fails to claim the $2500 American Opportunity tax credit per Pub 970.)

Income reported on Form 1099-MISC is generally considered self-employment income if it represents payment for services provided as an independent contractor or freelancer. TurboTax will guide you through the process of entering your miscellaneous income.
Income reported on Form 1099-MISC is not considered self-employment income when it represents passive income. Such as; prizes, awards, or legal settlements rather than payment for your services rendered. This income is reported on Schedule 1 (Form 1040) as "Other Income" rather than Schedule C. It is likely that your damage claim falls into this category.
To manually enter your Form1099-MISC:
Click on "Search" at the top right of your TurboTax screen.
Type "Form 1099-MISC" in the search box.
Click on the link "Jump to Form 1099-MISC"
Your screen will say, "Did you get a 1099-MISC?" Click on Yes
Your screen will say, "Let's enter the income from your 1099-MISC"
Enter your details as shown on your form. Enter it under Other Income if it is not Rents or Royalties and Continue
Your screen will say "Describe the reason for this 1099-MISC" enter a brief description such as Nontaxable damage claim settlement and Continue
Your screen will say," Do one of these uncommon situations apply?" Review this list and if none apply, check None of these apply. And Continue
Your screen will say, "Did the XXX involve work that's like YOUR NAME main job?" Answer No if this was a one-time referral bonus and not related to your main job.
Your screen will say, "How often did YOUR NAME get income for XXXXX? Answer and Continue
Your next screen will say, "Did the RXXX involve an intent to make money?" If No, your entry is complete. It is likely your damage claim settlement will fall into this category. If Yes, your income will be entered on Form Schedule C as Self-Employed Income.
Continue through your TurboTax screens and answer all follow-up questions regarding your income.
Then you will enter an offsetting entry to show that the income is nontaxable.
Scroll down, but this time, go to Less Common Income
Click the down arrow to the right of Miscellaneous Income, 1099-A, 1099-C and click Add
Scroll down to the bottom and select Start to the right of Other reportable income
Click Yes when you reach, Any other taxable income?
Click Add and here you will enter the description you wrote above, along with a negative (-$XXX So for example, if your settlement you entered above is $1000 enter -1000), and Continue
Click here for information on Form 1099-MISC.
Click here for "Where Do I Enter Form 1099-MISC?"
Please feel free to come back to TurboTax Community with additional information or questions.

No, you generally do not need to report VA survivor benefits as taxable income on your federal or state tax return.
Sorry for your loss.

Data from Form 1099-MISC is reported in the Wages & Income section of your tax return, typically on Schedule 1 (Form 1040) or Schedule C for business income if self-employed. This includes rents, royalties, prizes, and other miscellaneous income. Information from Form 1099-B—such as summary of proceeds, gains and losses, adjustments, and withholding—is reported first on Form 8949, which then flows to Schedule D (Capital Gains and Losses). These forms capture detailed investment transactions and tax withholding related to sales of stocks, bonds, or other securities. In TurboTax Online, enter your 1099-MISC under Wages & Income in the 1099-MISC and Other Common Income section. For 1099-B data, use the Investment Income section under Stocks, Mutual Funds, Bonds, Other to accurately report all sales, adjustments, gains or losses, and withholding.

If the form keeps returning, the interview answers in the Personal Info section are likely still triggering it, even if you delete it via Forms Mode. To remove Form 8615 in TurboTax Desktop, try updating your daughter's personal info in TurboTax to confirm they provided over half of their own support via earned income.
Go back to the Personal Info section in TurboTax and go through the questions again. You can say that your daughter was a full-time student. After it asks about being a student, you will come to a screen that says "Did You Support Yourself in 2025?" Select "Yes, I provided over half of my support with earned income." Continue through the questions until you get back to the Personal Info Summary.
You should then be able to delete Form 8615 and it will not reappear.
See here for another discussion of this issue.
See this tips article for more information about Form 8615.

Wait until your original return has been fully processed before you amend, and make sure you have saved a pdf of the original return before you amend. (If you do not save it as a pdf, the amended return will overwrite the original, and the original will be lost forever)

Do not expect quick results from amending. It can take four months or more for the IRS to process an amended return.

This TurboTax Help states: A lump-sum payment is a one-time Social Security payment that you received for prior-year benefits. For example, when someone is granted disability benefits, they'll receive a lump sum to cover the entire time since they first applied for disability. This period could cover months or years. Follow these directions to report a Social Security lump payment: Down the left side of the screen, click on Federal. Down the left side of the screen, click on Wages & Income. Scroll down to Retirement plans and Social Security, click the down arrow to the right. Click on Start/Revisit to the right of Social Security (SSA-1099). At the screen Tell us about the benefits you received, enter the information as it is printed on the form. At the screen Did you receive any lump-sum payments?, click Yes. Enter the year and dollar amount from the SSA-1099. You will have to answer questions about that same year's tax return. Repeat for each year listed on the SSA-1099.

For tax purposes, the IRS considers any person who earns money as an independent contractor (which is what a 1099-NEC signifies) to be a sole proprietor or self-employed.
Even if you don't have an LLC, you should answer these questions using your own legal name as the business name, your home address as the business location, and your Social Security Number in place of an Employer Identification Number (EIN).
When prompted for an accounting method, select "Cash," and if it asks for a business code, you can use 812910 (Pet Care Services).
You can also deduct expenses like treats or leashes.
By reporting your income as a business, this ensures you are correctly paying the self-employment tax required for any non-employee compensation over $400.

Per the IRS Instructions for Schedule K-1 List of Codes and References Used in Schedule K-1 (Form 1065), Box 20 Code AJ is used for Excess business loss limitation.
However, some partnerships choose to use this code to report Aggregate Business Activity Gross Income and Aggregate Business Activity Total Deductions, which together total Excess Business Losses for Form 461.
This information is relevant only if your tax year 2025 net losses from all businesses are more than $313,000 ($626,000 if filing a joint return). If this doesn't apply to you, you can leave Box 20 Code AJ blank (or do not include this code).
We don't anticipate future updates that would change how this code is handled in TurboTax.
