There is a section under Personal Info.  When you enter each of your personal information, there is a box that asks "did you serve in the armed forces". Here is where you would say "yes".  This isn't an issue however.  The issue was the fact the subtraction did not appear in your California return and you had to enter it manually.   As of now, this must be entered as an annuity adjustment. To enter, you must navigate to the "Any Pension or Annuity Adjustments" screen in the California section to receive the subtraction. This is what I assumed you did and it was the correct response.

The OTB has three components: the Ontario energy and property tax credit (OEPTC), the Northern Ontario energy credit (NOEC), and the Ontario sales tax credit (OSTC). To receive the 2026 OTB, you must file your 2025 income tax and benefit return. You do not need to apply separately for the 2026 OSTC component, as the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) will use the information from your 2025 return to determine your eligibility and entitlement. These credits are claimed in the provincial section of your tax return. You should verify your eligibility and confirm that you intend to claim them. You can check your tax summary to see whether you applied for the Trillium component. For more information, visit-  Ontario Trillium Benefit Questions and Answers Thank you for choosing TurboTax.

A Tax-Free Savings Account (TFSA) is tax-free. Any dividends, interest, or gains inside a TFSA are not taxable So they are NOT reported, even if you didn’t get a slip. “Investment income not reported on a slip” refers exclusively to taxable investment income. Dividend income earned within a TFSA should not be included in reporting. Transactions conducted within a TFSA are not required to be reported. Thank you for choosing TurboTax.

When you own rental property with your spouse, it'll likely be a co-ownership or, under certain conditions, a partnership. If you're not sure, the CRA suggests checking the partnership laws for your province or territory. You can also look up Income Tax Folio S4-F16-C1, What is a Partnership? Once you decide which situation applies to you, the steps for entering spousal co-owners' rental property income in TurboTax will vary depending on the software edition (and view) you're using.   How do I enter rental property income if my spouse and I are co-owners?   If you are using the Desktop/Download version and your returns are "coupled" (prepared together), make sure to check the box in the co-owner section labelled "Transfer to spouse." This ensures the other 50% flows automatically to your spouse’s return, so you don't have to enter the data twice!   Hope this helps!    Thank you for choosing TurboTax.

Aetna and Blue Cross insurance plans typically don't fall under long-term care insurance rules unless they specifically offer qualified long-term care insurance policies.   Long-term care insurance is specialized coverage for chronic illness or disability care, not usually covered by standard health insurance plans like Aetna or Blue Cross.      To be considered under long-term care rules for tax purposes, the insurance must be a qualified long-term care insurance contract meeting IRS requirements, such as being guaranteed renewable and covering only qualified long-term care services. If your Aetna or Blue Cross plan is a standard health insurance plan, it generally doesn't qualify as long-term care insurance under IRS rules..

Yes, everything is entered correctly. If I mark both spouses as full year residents, the page "Deduction for Military Pay" comes up and confirms that the military pay was exempted. But if i change the non-military spouse to either part-year or non resident, this page never comes up and the military pay of the full-year resident  remains as taxable income. Is TurboTax able to handle this situation?

You need to set up a rental property in the Rental Income section under Wages and Income in TurboTax. When you enter your rental income on the screen that says Rental Income, choose Other income not reported on a 1099-MISC or 1099-K, and income from barter or exchange.  You can enter the rental income you received without it being reported on a Form 1099.

Yes, this would be correct.  You've allocated 20% of the wages to New York and 80% of the wages to Pennsylvania on the W2.  The non-resident amount taxable in New York is 20% of the wage total while 100% of the wages are taxable to Pennsylvania, with a credit applied for the 20% that was taxable to New York.   When you do your state returns, be sure to start with your non-resident New York return and finalize it before starting your Pennsylvania return.  If you had already started your state returns before editing your W-2, you should delete the state returns and start over.  To do that in TurboTax online:   Click State on the left side menu then click Go to state return in the lower right corner Click the trashcan icon by each state you want to delete, then click Delete on the pop-up window. To add the states back, click the + Add another State button and select the state to added back from the dropdown menu To delete a state return in the Desktop product, click File in the black banner at the left, then slick Remove state return from the dropdown menu.  Confirm the removal of the state to erase the data you previously entered so that you can start off with a clean slate.

If you are using TurboTax online and are getting the HSA_2025 rejection code when trying to electronically file your return, try using the following steps to clear the internal condition that is causing the rejection code. These steps have worked for some users to be able to refile with acceptance of their returns.   Also, please note that you should not check the box indicating that you are ‘covered by Medicare’ unless you are receiving Medicare benefits rather than having HDHP insurance coverage. This question is also asking about 2025, not 2026. So if you are covered by Medicare in 2026, this check box does not apply to you. Use these steps:   Go to Deduction and Credits > Medical > 1099-SA, HSA, MSA and click Update Continue through the HSA section until you reach the page that asks if you were covered by a High Deductible Health Plan in 2025 and answer according to your situation. Next, check any appropriate boxes on the page that asks Do any of these situations apply to you? (This is where it is important to be accurate about whether you were receiving Medicare benefits during 2025). The next page asks what type of HDHP coverage did you have in 2025. Check the box that says ‘I had different plan types at different times of the year’, then click Continue.  On the next page, select the type of coverage for each month of the year according to your situation. (If you were covered by Medicare in 2025, indicate that you had Medicare or None for any month you had Medicare coverage.) Continue through the process to answer the same set of questions for your spouse, if applicable. Keep clicking Continue until you are back at the main Deductions and Credits page.   At this point, you can go through the error check process and refile your return.
See RogerD1’s answer above. It worked for me
