To access your current or prior year online tax returns sign onto the TurboTax website with the User ID you used to create the account - https://myturbotax.intuit.com/   When you sign onto your online account and land on the Tax Home web page, scroll down and click on Add a state.  This will take you back to the 2025 online tax return. Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the online program screen.  Then click on Print Center.  Then click on Print, save or preview this year's return.  Choose the option Include government and TurboTax worksheets   If you used the desktop CD/Download editions installed on your computer, the only copy of your tax data file and any PDF's will be on the computer where the return was created.  TurboTax does not store online any returns completed using the desktop editions.

Once you get the program installed you can move your online return to it without needing to start over.  Have you done a lot in the Online version?   There is a new way to move and continue your Online return in the Desktop program.   To continue in the desktop version see this……. https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/choosing-a-product/help/how-do-i-switch-from-turbotax-online-to-the-turbotax-software/00/26129 In the Desktop program try to OPEN your return. Do not click "Start a New Return." Go up to File-Open and click on "Continue From TurboTax Online."
Since you have already paid the taxes owed, choose the option to pay the taxes by mailing a check.  Then e-file your return and do not mail a check.

Unfortunately, it did not. I have spent about 2 hours on the phone with 2nd and 3rd level support at this point (I had already filed an extension) and have not had the time to try again.  The Review Order screen SHOULD pull up payment information, but it doesn't (because it's already paid for) and never lets me past the screen. I've had similar issues in previous years with desktop if I need to pay to file - no credit card would go through and I'd have to call in (sometimes multiple times) to pay by phone and get a code. I'm beginning to think something is fundamentally wrong with my account - and has been for years - and this year since I'm not able to use the desktop version - I seem to be unable to get past the screen to submit (or even PRINT my taxes to file by mail OR download what's been done even if I could get the desktop version installed on a different machine so I'd have to redo my taxes from scratch). I was hoping that the verbiage "free if filed by April 16" meant I could get through today and nope - I cannot. The 2nd\3rd level support did agree with me that the issue is not on my side (fresh browser, never installed on a different computer, pop ups enabled, 3rd party cookies enabled, no plug-ins and on a VPN so nothing blocked on my house firewall which uses 3rd party block lists and occasionally blocks items from legit websites using 3rd party tools). But I'm still stuck. I need someone to update my account from the backend that I've "reviewed\paid" so I can continue.

I bought the software Home and Business 2025 at Costco  during installing Turbotax invited me to do my taxes online,  which I accepted,  for me huge mistake, all I wanted to do is file an extension,  even doing was a nightmare to find where,  I finally got smart and ask my AI  as I was getting Zero help from that software in finding the right location,   Any how after doing the basic preliminary online,  I want to abandon doing it online and do on desktop version with which I can crank my work without begging for info.  so I guess I need to  install again the software , refuse their offer to do online  put my Serial Number,   re-import my last year return and start from scratch on desktop,

Thank you so much. This worked and I was able to file my nonresident state tax return.   You said it would fix my errors. To be clear, this was Turbotax's error. I answered the Turbotax questions accurately, and TT reported income for Oklahoma that I filled in $0 for during the questions. This was time-consuming and frustrating for me.

You can change the email address associated with your account through your account settings.   Intuit uses a single sign in system for all Intuit products, so changing it here will also update it for any other Intuit products you use, such as QuickBooks or Credit Karma.   To Change Your Email Address: Select Intuit Account located in the lower-left corner of your screen (near the Sign Out button). On the Account Manager page, select the Sign in & security menu. Select the Email address section. Enter your new email address and then enter it again to confirm. Enter your current password when prompted to verify the change. Select Save. Check your new email inbox for a verification link from Intuit and click it to finalize the update. If you can't sign in at all, you can go to the Intuit Account Recovery page. This requires you to upload a photo of a government-issued ID to verify your identity.

If you received a retroactive payment of over $3000 without a T1198 form, you must calculate the year-by-year breakdown of the payment (principal only). In TurboTax, use the "Find" feature to search for "T1198," select the form, and enter the total amount and the breakdown for each year, usually found in a letter from your employer. Is the portion for previous years over $3,000? If not, you don't need Form T1198.   To clarify this information, you can contact CRA directly at 1-800-959-8281.   Thank you for choosing TurboTax.

I keep getting text messages about missing the 4/15/2025 tax deadline everyday - but I filed the 2025 Fed Tax return on 4/14/2026 and received an "Accepted" message back.  I login to TurboTax 2025 Premier desktop and it also shows that the Fed return was already transmitted and received.  I just submitted the State tax return, which isn't due until 05/01/2026.  So neither return was submitted late.   Why is this happening?  Was it truly accepted? How do I make the text messages stop?
@kaslawf6   It should be automatically added to your return.  It is NOT part of the standard deduction.  Check 1040 or 1040SR line 13b for it.  What do you have on line 13b?
