Once a tax return has been Accepted by the IRS or a State, TurboTax receives no further information concerning the tax return or the status of any tax refund.   If accepted by the IRS use the federal tax refund website to check the refund status - https://www.irs.gov/refunds   After the tax return has been Accepted by the IRS (meaning only that they received the return) it will be in the Processing mode until the tax refund has been Approved and then an Issue Date will be available on the IRS website.   Call the IRS: 1-800-829-1040 hours 7 AM - 7 PM local time Monday-Friday

I am referring to dividends reported on the 1099-DIV in boxes 1a, 1b and 5. When I enter boxes 1a and 1b, TT asks this question under "Do any of these uncommon situations apply?" Some qualified dividends are from securities that didn't meet the required holding period But, when Box 5 (section 199A) is entered (either alone or in combo with boxes 1a and 1b), this question is asked: Some qualified dividends or section 199A dividends are from securities that didn't meet the required holding period. What do I need to do to answer them? Thanks

If you are using the TurboTax Desktop software and the interview isn't cooperating:   Switch to Forms Mode: Click the Forms icon in the top right.  Open the K-1 Worksheet: In the left sidebar, find the K-1 Partner (or K-1 S-Corp) worksheet for this entity. Find Box 11: Scroll down to the Box 11 section. The "QuickZoom": Look for a button or a line below Box 11 labeled "Other Income/Loss Worksheet" or similar. it is located right below the Box 11 amount. Select it. When the next screen appears, it will take you right to Code S non-portfolio gains or losses. Manually enter the Short-Term or Long-Term gain amounts on the specific lines provided in that supporting worksheet. This will force the flow to Schedule D. The key here is to determine if this is a short-term or long-term gain. This should be listed on a supplemental disclosure statement that came with your K-1.   @chickenbooboo

OPM uses the Simplified Rule to figure the nontaxable portion of your pension.  The first year depends on how many payments you received that year - since it was in your Blue Booklet I don't know why they didn't put it on your 1099-R.  Subsequent years will be the same amount based on 12 months (I'm not sure what your executor has to do the year you die, if no survivor benefit has been selected - I assume it's the monthly amount in your booklet times the number of months you got your pension, of course even though the pension is paid in arrears OPM will take the last payment back if they send one for the month you died, since you have to be alive the entire month to get it, same as Social Security).
What 14 digit code are you referring to? The TurboTax desktop editions require a 16 digit license code be provided when installing the software.
Robert said "Massachusetts exempts interest earned on Massachusetts state and local bonds", not banks. Bank interest is taxable.

When TurboTax says your return has been "accepted," it means the IRS has accepted it for processing. It doesn't mean that it's been processed yet, just that it's complete and accurate for them to start working on processing your return.   Also, some returns are subject to an automatic hold when certain credits are claimed.   Please, keep tracking your state's refund status by clicking on the link below:  How do I track my state's refund?

Once your return is accepted for processing by the IRS and/or state, we have no control over your return.   The IRS issues most refunds within 21 days, assuming that there's no delay and nothing is holding your return. Be aware that some returns are subject to an automatic hold when certain credits are claimed.   Because your refund has been delayed more than the timeframe, refer to the link below to get more information:  What if my IRS refund is taking longer than 21 days?   You can also keep monitoring your refund, by opening the link below:  Where's my Refund
