The benefits are tax free and don’t have to be reported. If not used for qualified education expenses there is no effect on AOC.

I can save a .pdf and then print from my computer but today a problem occurred as I was efiling and had to pay by charge card for the State efile. When that was completed - I thought - I received a page that gave me the option to print and also assured my that my transaction would be emailed to my email address. I did not receive an emai and my TurboTax was completely locked up.

Did you pay federal tax in 2025
Select Yes
Did you pay tax in addition to your regular tax return balance due because of an amended or audited return?
Select Yes
Enter the additional amount paid
Verify what OR has on the forms. I don't know if you used the software last year and the program knows your balance or what may be in your return. Be sure to look through your OR forms and verify the amounts used. To print or view your forms, including all worksheets:
In desktop, switch to Forms Mode.
For online:
On the left side, select Tax Tools
Select Print center
Select Print, save or preview this year's return
If you have not paid, select pay now.

Do not expect quick results from amending. It can take four months or more for the IRS to process an amended return.
You can watch for information here:

Good luck with Trans-World. They’ve lied to me numerous times. They increased interest while they were collecting debt. I got no warning and they started garnishing my wages. I stopped that and allowed them to take $950 a month. I got a pay-off statement that I paid it off, and they STILL took $950. I’m fighting to get it back. F-!- AAFES and Trans World. Epstein didn’t kill himself.

Each tax year has to be filed separately using the forms for the specific tax year. They cannot be combined in any way--do not even put them in the same envelope when you mail them. Software for past years is available back to 2022. Any earlier years can only be prepared on paper forms by hand--and those refunds have been forfeited now.
The current online program can only be used for a 2025 return--no other year. And if you did not file a timely 2024 return you will have trouble e-filing 2025. When it asks for your 2024 AGI try using zero. If zero does not work then you have to print, sign and mail 2025.
You cannot change the tax year. The current online program is for 2025 only. Only a 2025 return can be prepared online and only a 2025 return can be e-filed.
Online preparation and e-filing for 2022, 2023, and 2024 is permanently closed.
Note: The desktop software you need to prepare the prior year return must be installed/downloaded to a full PC or Mac. It cannot be used on a mobile device.
To file a return for a prior tax year
If you need to prepare a return for 2022, 2023, or 2024 you can purchase and download desktop software to do it, then print, sign, and mail the return(s)
https://turbotax.intuit.com/personal-taxes/past-years-products/
You may also want to explore purchasing the software from various retailers such as Amazon, Costco, Best Buy, Walmart, Sam’s, etc.
Remember to prepare your state return as well—if you live in a state that has a state income tax.

When you mail a tax return, you need to attach any documents showing tax withheld, such as your W-2’s or any 1099’s. Use a mailing service that will track it, such as certified mail so you will know the IRS/state received the return.
Federal and state returns must be in separate envelopes and they are mailed to different addresses. Read the mailing instructions that print with your tax return carefully so you mail them to the right addresses.

You do not enter last year's federal refund on your 2025 federal return. There are a few states for which you need to enter last year's federal refund on the state return:
-Alabama, Iowa, Missouri, Montana, and Oregon.
As for entering last year's state or local refunds received in 2025:
IS MY 2024 STATE OR LOCAL REFUND TAXABLE?
If you used standard deduction for your 2024 tax return, you do not have to enter a state or local tax refund you received in 2025. If you itemized deductions then your state or local refund that you claimed on the 2024 return----and received in 2025---must be entered as taxable income on your 2025 return. If you are not sure if you itemized for 2024, look at your 2024 Form 1040 line 12. Do you see the standard deduction amount or something else?
2024 STANDARD DEDUCTION AMOUNTS
SINGLE $14,600 (65 or older/legally blind + $1950)
MARRIED FILING SEPARATELY $14,600 (65 or older/legally blind + $1550)
MARRIED FILING JOINTLY $29,200 (65 or older/legally blind + $1550)
HEAD OF HOUSEHOLD $21,900 (65 or older/legally blind + $1950)
If you need to enter the state or local refund — go to
Federal>Wages & Income>1099-Misc and Other Common Income>State and Local Tax Refunds on Form 1099G

@kayak1 If I select "Yes" for "Did you install improvements" and enter some dummy information, then the form (25a) does show the correct "Yes" selected. But if I go back to Step-by Step and select "No", then 25a is cleared and not changed to "No". Seems like an easy enough fix, but a guess their scheduled patch deployment ain't til Friday.
