Thank you, Vanessa It has great insight and understanding.   1)      I will contact them tomorrow to see what they say on the correction. I am on the presumption if we are changing the social to the ein of the business it will now acts as a general pot that we can now distribute proportions accordingly, because as of now everything is being allocated to the wife.   Example: By changing it to the business ein lets the business receives a 1099k for 10k. The wife will put the 1099-k as income with the business ein at 5k usd, and I will also do the same. Put the 1099-k at 5k usd using the business ein.   At the end the IRS would see that both 5k usd from both the wife and I add up to the total sum of business at 10k usd.     FYI: The Ein for the business is under sole member under the wifes name. When the irs instructions were followed on the ss-4 it allocated like that because Texas is a communal state.   2).        By fill ein I meant on work schedule C Page 1: (A,B,C,F,E) Before Part 1 A: Principal Business or profession… FILL B: Enter Code from instructions (Naics) FILL C: Business Name FILL D: Employer ID Number (EIN) LEAVE BLANK is this correct? E: Business Address FILL   Assumption: If there is no EIN under line D on schedule C then the irs would know the income reported is based on the corrected 1099-k, and as you said the only reference regarding the business ein should by inputting the 1099-k as income. At the bottom I wrote the Instructions for IRS 1040 Line D, which I believe that you are basing it as leaving blank.   3).      Completely understand I am not a contractor anymore because square has reclassified 1099-k and we can file as a married couple in a communal state, now we can just split all expenses, and I can now see how by splitting schedule c expenses then how to transfers over to the Schedule SE which distributes the self-employment tax.   Final Question: 4).      We had two 1099-Nec that we sent out before Jan-31 and that was tied in with the business EIN. This shouldn’t affect the change of the 1099-k. My question to this is if we are dividing 50% on the expenses should I also divide those two 1099-Nec that came to do work for us?   5).       Not sure if some guidance can be given. Most expenses that qualified for section 179 were used. There were some things that we decided to depreciate over the years on form 4562. Would that something be something that we would split in half. Or can I just give all depreciations to the wife so that in that sence there is one piece of paperwork.   I really do appreciate it. It really does help clarify a lot.   IRS instructions Schedule 1040 (line D) Line D Enter on line D the EIN that was issued to you on Form SS-4. Do not enter your SSN on this line. Do not enter another taxpayer's EIN (for example, from any Forms 1099-MISC that you received). If you do not have an EIN, leave line D blank. You need an EIN only if you have a qualified retirement plan or are required to file employment, excise, alcohol, to- bacco, or firearms returns, or are a payer of gambling winnings. If you need an EIN, see the Instructions for Form SS-4. Single-member LLCs. If you are the sole owner of an LLC that is not treated as a separate entity for federal income tax purposes, enter on line D the EIN that was issued to the LLC (in the LLC's legal name) for a qualified retirement plan, to file employment, excise, alco-hol, tobacco, or firearms returns, or as a payer of gambling winnings. If you do not have such an EIN, leave line D blank. https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/i1040sc.pdf
There is a box you can check to adjust the basis, but you don't directly enter the gain or loss number from the 1099-B.    TurboTax calculates it based on your entries in those fields.

Do you need W-2s or your tax returns from 2022 and 2023?    A copy of your tax return will show all of your income for that year.      Or, you can get a transcript or copy of Form W-2, Wage and Tax Statement, from the IRS.  See here.     An actual copy of your Form W-2 is only available if you submitted it with a paper tax return.    Also see IRS Topic 159   You can also pay $62 each for copies from the Social Security Administration.  See SSA - w-2s.
If TaxAct never filed your 2023 return then you need to print and mail now.  Can you get a copy from TaxAct?   Are you using Turbo Tax for 2024?   Then try entering 0 for the 2023 AGI to efile.
I was told to get any information from tax act to do my taxes and then paid for the service.
I need the forms for my W-2 forms from 2022 2023. It’s for me to get into housing apartments.
No one answers this question, as they even understand the question!  In response to an email, "Did you get the answer you needed" - the answer is NO.
It was a download, and I had downloaded it before on a different laptop.  Costco receipt history doesn't go back far enough for me to try and re-access the original product link.

I BOUGHT A 10 X 10 STAND ALONE UTITILITY SHED WHICH I STARTED USING AS AN OFFICE SPACE IN 2024. WOULD I DEPRECIATE IT AS A NON-RESIDENTIAL REAL ESTATE ON MY TAX RETURN. I SET IT UP ON MY PROPERTY IN THE BACK. I ALSO HAD SOME DAMAGES TO IT FROM THE HURRICANE LAST YEAR. REPLACED WINDOWS FOR $900, FIXED ROOF FOR $2500, REPLACED FLOOR FOR $2110. IT'S MY FIRST TIME USING THE BUILDING IN 2024. I'M NOT SURE HOW I CAN DEDUCT THOSE EXPENSES. THE COST OF THE BUILDING WAS $15000. CAN I EVEN CLASIFY THIS AS A PIECE OF REAL ESTATE. IF NOT, HOW CAN I INCORPORATE THIS BUILDING ON MY TAX RETURN?

@gmggarcia wrote: where is the program response to questions concerning HSA and Medicare in the final tax prepared tax  documentation? thanks. What exactly is your question?   If you had contributions or withdrawals to an HSA, your return will contain a copy of form 8889.  (If you are married and your spouse also has an HSA, there will be a separate form 8889 for your spouse.)   Your coverage for 2024 is indicated on line 1, and your contribution limits on line 3 and 7.  The limits take into account your answers about how many months you were eligible (had HSA-eligible coverage and were NOT covered by medicare or other insurance.)   The actual answers to your questions (used to calculate form 8889) are on an internal program worksheet that you might be able to see if you print or view the PDF for "all forms and worksheets" -- but might only be visible if you use the desktop program to look at the worksheets.

That depends on how it is paid and taxed.  I'm not familiar with Fullbrights specifically.   In general, graduate stipends and post-doc fellowships are considered "education" and are exempt from SS and medicare tax withholding.  That means they are not considered "earned income" (income earned from working).  But from the SECURE act of 2019, they are considered compensation for IRA purposes.  There is a specific way to enter the fellowship in Turbotax to get the program to recognize this.   Or, if the fellowship is reported on a W-2, or a 1099-NEC and you pay self-employment tax, then it is automatically considered compensation for services performed.   The grey area would be if the fellowship is paid on a 1099-MISC and is not reported as self-employment.  Can it be considered part of your education if you are not in a degree program or part of a postdoctoral training program at an educational institution.  You may need professional tax advice.
