I have tried to submit my deceased fathers nominee interest and dividend 1099's online 3 times. They have been rejected 3 times. The payor my deceased's fathers SSN apparently is not recoginized any longer since he is deceased. I have a EIN for the now irreocable trust, all of of it is correct. The online suggetions say to mail the 1099's with evidence of attempt to submit online. That is straight forward. My question is I can only print from the Turbo Tax "Create forms" program recipient copies of the 1099's not Federal copies. So do I mail those with the documents and explanation or do I have purchase IRS redline copies of the form so they will accept them and send them with the proof of trying to send online.

If I incurred business expenses in 2025 before getting my LLC in 2026, can I deduct these expenses on my 2025 tax return? Also, what would I file as?

It only has box 4 for withholding ? No other boxes have amounts? Why did you get it? Was it for unemployment? You need to ask for a new or corrected form 1099G.

@DaveF1006 Thank you, I appreciate your efforts. Note that the language you cited from Maryland Tax‑General §10‑207(b)(1) has changed slightly and now appears in Maryland Tax‑General §10‑207(c). I don't think this change affected the meaning. HOWEVER, please consider Maryland Tax‑General § 10-220(a)(2) ("Part year residents"): An individual who is a resident of the State for only a part of the taxable year may claim and shall include only the part attributable to Maryland, as determined under this section, of: (1) the additions to federal adjusted gross income under § 10-204 of this subtitle; (2) the subtractions from federal adjusted gross income under §§ 10-207 through 10-209 of this subtitle. Doesn't this language require a Maryland part-year resident to pro-rate the subtraction of interest on U.S. government obligation set forth in Maryland Tax‑General §10‑207(c)? If it does, is there any way to do it in the Maryland TurboTax product other than using the "Override" function on Form 502SU in Forms mode?

If you used Turbo Tax Online last year you should start a brand new account for yourself and not transfer from last year. You can not remove a spouse or switch the order of names. For the Desktop program start a new return and do not transfer. TurboTax will not allow you to remove the primary taxpayer on the return. And you should not try to change the order of names. If you were listed as the spouse and want to be the primary taxpayer now or delete the primary person, you will need to start a new return by logging out and starting over with a new account and new user name and password. You will not be able to transfer from the prior year. Online is only good for 1 return per account. You can start another return in TurboTax Online by: Logging out if you are in your account Choose what TurboTax Online product you want to use for the second return Create your account screen Set up a new login for the second return Start working on the new return What if I got divorced What if I got divorced?

Plus, in TurboTax Business, if you distribute corpus in addition to income the program will automatically switch the trust to a complex trust.

Thank you for responding! I am using Deluxe and there are no 1098 questions related to items number 5 and 6 on your list. Maybe that is the issue, i.e., I have not answered those questions to my knowledge and cannot find them anywhere. I have gone to the "Forms" worksheets to make sure everything is correct with no exceptions noted. I have also re-entered the 1098 information 3-4 times and still get the same problem.
