No, you cannot claim a tax credit for those windows. Because Marvin Windows chose not to participate in the 2025 federal tax credit program, they do not have a Qualified Manufacturer Identification Number (QMID), which means you cannot claim the Energy Efficient Home Improvement Credit for these windows on your 2025 tax return.    Under IRS regulations for 2025, any exterior windows or skylights must be produced by a "qualified manufacturer" that has registered with the IRS and provided a specific QMID for their qualifying products. Marvin Windows and Doors explicitly stated that they opted out of the program for 2025 due to the increased complexity of the new IRS reporting rules and the stringent Energy Star Version 7.0 performance standards.

If your IRS  Online account showed a refund was issued but you have not received it, you could file a Form 3911 to report a missing refund, but it sounds like no refund is showing. Are you sure your return was accepted by the IRS?   You can use this link to sign in to your online account Online account for individuals. This will show information even before "Where's My Refund" updates for it. You can also look under Letters & Notices in your Online Account to see if there is a letter or notice that is going to be sent to you regarding your refund.   Since 50 days have elapsed, your return is likely delayed due to errors, missing information, or identity verification. Since it is beyond 21 days for e-filing or 6 weeks for mailing, you should verify your IRS account transcript or contact the IRS directly for a status update. If they have accepted your return, they should be able to provide you with information regarding it's status because it is beyond any of the processing dates noted by the IRS.   If this shows that his refund was issued but not received, you can start a trace with the IRS by filing Form 3911. Refunds can be claimed for up to three years after the tax deadline.   You can also call the IRS: 1-800-829-1040 hours 7 AM - 7 PM local time Monday-Friday. Make sure to have a copy of your tax return available.   This article discusses the seven most common reasons for refund delays: Why Is My Tax Refund Taking So Long? 7 Reasons for Delays   Also see:   Click here for Missing your Tax Refund Payment? They lost me. I went with FreeTaxUSA. Fed is free, state is 15.99. I was done in a little over an hour as compared to the over 3 hours I spent struggling with TurboTax last year.    Returns were accepted by the feds and the state the same day. Simple, easy, clear, a little bit of upselling for other services but not horrible.    I'm sure TurboTax will take down this post!

The IRS wants only rounded, whole numbers for AGI, so yes, the forty cents goes away.   It should not even be there in the first place.   Where did you find that amount?   Was it on line 11 of your 2024 Form 1040?     Where do I find my AGI?   https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/agi/help/how-do-i-find-last-year-s-agi/01/25947   Your 2024 tax return shows your 2024 Adjusted Gross Income  (AGI)  If you filed a joint return then the AGI is the same for each of you.   Form 1040        line 11   If entering the amount from your 2024 tax return does not work, then try entering “0” instead.  If that does not work and you still cannot e-file, then print, sign, and mail your tax return.   You can get a free transcript of your past return from the IRS:   https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript Note: If you filed late or amended your return, your correct 2024 AGI may not be in the system.  https://ttlc.intuit.com/questions/1944348-how-do-i-print-and-mail-my-return-in-turbotax-online Note:  If you mail your federal return, you will also need to mail your state return.  You will not be able to e-file your state return.

Please note that "separated" is a marital status, not a filing status on your tax return. TurboTax asks you for your marital status, then it asks some other questions to determine what your filing status should be. Whether you can use the Single filing status depends on exactly what you mean by "separated." If you are "legally separated under a decree of divorce or separate maintenance" then you are treated as unmarried for tax purposes. In that case you can file as Single. Not all states have legal separation. If you are not "legally separated under a decree of divorce or separate maintenance" then you have to file as either married filing jointly or married filing separately. Simply living apart does not make you legally separated. You have to have a court decree. It doesn't matter how long you have been separated or lived apart.

I have never lived in California. I do not have a home nor family in CA.  I live in Belize and I work remotely for a company that is located in California as a W2 worker. I also work remotely as a contractor for a company located in Florida. Last year I filed state taxes for both CA and FL but now realized that I was wrong for doing so/

The simplified election applies for both regular tax and AMT purposes.  This doesn't mean you are being assessed AMT on your return.  It just means that the election is made for both regular foreign tax and AMT tax.  The AMT portion will have no effect on your return.
