Did you e-file your federal return?  Did you only use your TT online account for 1 tax return?  Have you disabled or allowed popups through from a popup blocker or security software?  Try clearing your internet cache?  What does it show directly at the NYS where is my refund link here https://www.tax.ny.gov/pit/file/refund.htm ? If your state shows no record of your return, have you checked emails from TT? Sign in to your Intuit Account and open Your tax returns & Documents on the Tax Home screen. Your state return for 2025 should be listed as FILED, and your Return Status should say ACCEPTED.  Let me know if that is blank still? @dverendean

Your parents are claiming you as a dependent---not as a "deduction."    When you enter your own information in MY INFO it will ask if someone else can claim you as a dependent and you need to say YES.    And...everyone gets a standard deduction, based on age and filing status, so that is correct.
This poster found a workaround.  Here is the link:  Enrollment status workaround

Even when you are a dependent the Standard Deduction is the default. You do not claim anyone on your tax return.  In the My Info section of the program, when entering your personal information there is a screen labeled Let's check for some other situations.  On that screen you need to select the box Another taxpayer can claim me as a dependent on their tax return.

Everyone's tax situation is different and the complexity of your tax situation, meaning the forms needed to file your return, determines if you qualify for the TurboTax Free Edition.   The TurboTax Free Edition is strictly limited to simple Form 1040 returns. If your return requires additional schedules to report specific types of income or to claim certain credits, the system will prompt you to upgrade to TurboTax Deluxe or higher.   Here are the most common reasons you would be required to upgrade to a paid version: Unemployment Income: If you received a 1099-G for unemployment benefits, this is no longer covered under the Free Edition for the 2025 tax year. Itemized Deductions: If you are claiming deductions for mortgage interest, property taxes, or large charitable contributions on Schedule A instead of taking the standard deduction. Investment Income: Reporting stock sales, cryptocurrency transactions, or rental property income. Self-Employment/Gig Work: If you have 1099-NEC or 1099-K income and need to deduct business expenses on Schedule C. Education Credits: Claiming the American Opportunity Tax Credit or Lifetime Learning Credit (Form 8863). To see if you have forms that are not included in the free edition: Sign in to your TurboTax Online account. Select Tax Tools from the left menu and then click Tools. Click on View Tax Summary. Look for Schedules 1, 2, or 3. If any of these are present (other than for the Student Loan Interest deduction or the EITC/Child Tax Credit), an upgrade is required. If you want to start over to remove an accidental entry:  Select Tax Tools Clear and Start Over This will erase all data entered so far

W-2's come from your employer, and they have until January 31 to issue it.  Some employers allow you to import the W-2 through the software, but for security reasons you still need information from the actual W-2 to import it. Some employers have payroll sites that will have your W-2. You might need to phone, text, drop in, email and/or snail mail an old employer to make sure they know where to send your W-2.     Every 2025 W-2 that you received must be reported on your 2025 tax return, even if they are for small amounts.  Remember that each one of those W-2’s has your Social Security number on it, and that income was reported to the IRS by the employer.  You do not want trouble with the IRS for under-reporting your income or have your refund delayed by having missing income.   ALL of your W-2’s must be entered on the SAME tax return.     Go to Federal>Wages & Income to enter a W-2. After you enter the first one, you click Add Another W-2.     https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-forms/get-copy-w-2/L8FTim9MO_US_en_US?uid=m68ee4os   https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/import-export-data-files/import-enter-w-2/L55HzdeDr_US_en_US?uid=m68efe36   And….SAVE YOUR OWN W-2!  TURBOTAX DOES NOT SAVE IT FOR YOU.  TurboTax will not have a copy of it in your account and will not have an image even if you snapped a photo or imported it.  It is up to you to save it for your own records as stated on the back of the W-2.            https://ttlc.intuit.com/community/income/help/what-if-it-s-february-but-i-still-don-t-have-my-w-2/00/25998

I'm attempting to file my federal return and receive the following error message: "E-File is not available because your tax return includes forms that can't be e-filed. Revisit the Review section to see which forms." The review section does not list any forms that are causing the issue. I've checked the forms in my return against the tax form availability tool and they each show as "ready for e-file".   I'm filing as married filing jointly, and we live outside of the US. I don't receive a W2, but did receive a statement from my employer showing my income for the year. My wife is self-employed. The FEIE excludes all of my income and a portion of my wife's.    I've seen others add $1 to miscellaneous income as a workaround for zero-income returns (TurboTax incorrectly prevents electronic filing due to Foreign Earned Income Exclusion), but that hasn't helped here. Our AGI isn't $0 since we already have capital gains and interest income so I didn't really expect that to do anything, but figured it was worth a shot.    I'd appreciate anyone else's suggestions on how to resolve this - the error message without any information about what's causing the hold-up is extremely unhelpful.   Thanks, Jack

@Chuck48  Wait till after the IRS has processed your return.  You can pay the taxes due immediately though.  Some say wait 30 days to file an amended return, but not neccesary. While processing can take 8–12 weeks or longer, you generally have 3 years to amend. Remember to pay the taxes due immediately if you requested a refund so as to avoid interest and penalties  otherwise just pay them when due.
