Can someone who works for Intuit/TT please explain how we are supposed to know when it's safe to file as opposed to waiting for more updates to roll out?? This past week the desktop product had an update on 4/2 and then another update just a day later on 4/3 - which is really rare. Must have been some kind of important fix. How do we know whether to keep waiting for updates or to go ahead and file!? SE

If you filed your return with TurboTax then if the state has changed the state tax refund, they should be willing to explain to you why they changed the refund, so that you can contest the change if necessary.
Only the state knows why they did what they did. Did you not get a letter from the state?

No. Be sure to enter the cost basis of $1885.42 and the same for the proceeds, long term, non-covered, you should be able to e-file.

I am unable to access duplex printing either from print choices within TT or from my desktop choices. Very annoying since I don't want to print out 24 pages, only 12 if they are for my records. I also download to my desktop, to a thumb drive as well. It comes in handy when I upgrade my PC and can plug in the thumb drive to retrieve the previous years TT info. Not sure why it did auto load as I upgraded my desktop and went through the transfer protocol.

Washington State has a Long Term Care tax and an FMLA Tax that is taken automatically out of the "employees" pay each month. There is an exemption process you can go through for the Long Term Care tax, but there is no such thing for the FMLA Tax. This question is NOT about what the employer pays. Just about what the "employee" have to pay. I work for a company based only in Washington State. I'm a fully remote worker living in Florida. So I will NEVER get to use the WA State FMLA employee paid program because I do not live there. Yet I pay around $600 a year for it. Can I take the premium I'm forced to pay as a tax deduction anywhere on my federal taxes?

Join the crowd. It's subtle and you can easily miss it. If TT really wanted to make this product elite and save the taxpayer some bucks QCD's would be a line-item and not make it so subtle. I missed it on several passes through deductions and credits. If you open up the forms requesting QCD's you will find it as a line-item way down the page, specifically describing the QCD's and request for a total RMD.
