I had four pages of these with hundreds of sales. But on the very first page there was one box that could be checked as "non-digital" and all the problems went away.

I updated the software for the premium edition with update dated 2/27/26. I went back into EZ Step and the foreign tax credit is still not calculating properly. Please advise whether the 2/27 update was supposed to correct the issue or if there is another upgrade coming? If another update to fix the issue is coming when will it be available? Thank you

My husband gets paid as an independent contractor to lead music at church. He bought a new guitar because his old one that is 50 years old was unplayable. Can he deduct the cost of the new guitar?

You are correct. This is happening to me, too. TT is not calculating my GA state deductions correctly. It is NOT adjusting my deductions for state taxes paid. Instead it's deducting a number that equates to the Fed SALT limit of $10K still being in effect. This still results in an overstated GA deduction. I, too, will have to file somewhere else. Now how do I get the money back for the filing fee I paid to TT for my state return?

I continue to get email from you that my federal tax return was rejected. What I would like to know is "was my return accepted or rejected"?

Yes. This would not be deductible for any credit. However, if you sell your home this would be added to the cost basis of your home for when you sell your home. This will lower the profit on your home. Be sure to keep receipts from the installation of the siding.
If the siding was added to a rental property then you would add it as a depreciable asset under assets in the rental section.

I understand that after selling RSUs the vested sale price is included as income on my W2. Also, I paid taxes on that total amount, which are included on the W2 as well. However, the 1099 has my proceeds amount - AFTER taxes were paid. Therefore, when I adjust the cost basis from $0 to the value at date of vesting, the difference is HUGE and identical to the taxes I paid on the sale and which are reflected in the W2. I can only claim $3,000 this year, which seems wrong since I already paid taxes on the whole amount. Am I missing something? Other turbotax instruction states that the vested value and the proceeds should be very similar, but they're not because of the tax situation I outlined above. Am I missing something?

Many thanks! However, I have already almost completed the 2025 return and would like to see the side by side comparison to 2024. Is there a mechanism that would allow this? Again, many thanks!
