Not the maximum.  You can only contribute to an IRA if you have "compensation from working."  Compensation is your w-2 box 1 wages.  If you contribute to a pre-tax 401k, then I expect based on your facts, your W-2 box 1 would be $7,700 (possibly less, if there are other pre-tax deductions.)   Your and your spouses' combined IRA contributions can't be more than your combined total box 1 wages.

You cannot change or add anything on the return that you just e-filed, nor can you stop it.  It is too late, just like when you put an envelope in a US mailbox on the corner.  The IRS does not allow you to take it back.   If you left out a W-2, a 1099G, or a dependent, or a 1099 etc…DO NOT change your return while it is “pending.”  The changes will go nowhere.   Now you have to wait until the IRS either rejects or accepts your return.  If your return is rejected, you will be able to go into your account and make the necessary changes to your tax return and re-submit your return.    Sometimes—not always— the IRS corrects your mistakes, while they are processing your return.    If the IRS accepts your return, however, then you have to wait longer until it has been fully processed and you have received your refund.  THEN you can prepare an amended tax return and e-file or mail  it in. You have to be able to work from that return exactly the way it was when it was e-filed originally.  You will need to use a form called a 1040X.     Meanwhile, DO NOT go in and start changing anything on your return in the system, or you will make a mess for yourself.  Sit tight and wait until you see what the IRS does with the return you just e-filed   The Form 1040X is scheduled to be available on March 4.  The date is subject to change, so check on 3-4 to see if it is ready.   Before that, do not change anything at all on your return.

Light blocking shades do not qualify unless; 1. They can be claimed as "any insulation material or system, including air sealing material or system, which is specifically and primarily designed to reduce the heat loss or gain of a dwelling unit when installed in or on such dwelling unit" 2. the manufacturer joined the IRS "qualifying manufacturer's" program 3. The manufacturer has a QMID (qualified manufacturer ID number)   There is a list of QMIDs here, I can't guarantee it is complete or accurate. https://rebate.blue/qmid   If your shades qualify, you would enter them in the box for "insulation and air sealing systems".  You can only claim the cost of the shades, not the cost of installation.

TurboTax gives you an estimated date for receiving your refund based on a 21 day average from your date of acceptance, but it can take longer.  “21 days”  is not a promise from TurboTax or the IRS.      First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:  https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/   Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control.  TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.     You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount  (line 35a of your 2025 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:    https://www.irs.gov/refunds   To track your state refund:     https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/track-state-refund/L3jgO8PGs_US_en_US?uid=lt447ebr   If you chose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund, that will take some extra time, while the third party bank handles the refund processing     https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/refunds-take-longer-others/L14YlqFrH_US_en_US?uid=lexdr7zh . https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/irs-refund-taking-longer-21-days/L2vRAJbdU_US_en_US?uid=lexe7lst         If you are getting earned income credit on line 27 or additional child tax credit on line 28 You are subject to the delay required by the PATH act.  Do not expect your refund before early March   https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/internal-revenue-service/federal-refunds-delayed-due-path-act/L5jnQJsBi_US_en_US   Note:  “Accepted” is not the same as “approved”.  TurboTax tells you the e-file was accepted if the IRS deems that there is enough information on the return for them to take it in for processing.   Only the IRS can approve of the refund, which is a later stage of processing.  If the IRS approves your refund they will provide a date for the refund to be issued.   FROM THE IRS WHERE’S MY REFUND SITE: https://www.irs.gov/wheres-my-refund How it works Where's My Refund shows your refund status: Return Received – We received your return and are processing it. Refund Approved – We approved your refund and are preparing to issue it by the date shown. Refund Sent – We sent the refund to your bank or to you in the mail. It may take 5 days for it to show in your bank account or several weeks for your check to arrive in the mail.

DID YOU E-FILE?   Did you e-file?   Did you go through all three steps of the FILE section and click a big orange button that said “Transmit my returns now?”     When you e-file your return you will get two emails from TurboTax.  The first one will say your return has been transmitted; the second one will tell you the IRS has accepted  or rejected your federal e-file.  If you filed a state return, there will be a third email (usually a day or two later) that tells you if the state e-file was accepted or rejected.   Check your e-file status:   https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/    What does it say in your account?  Does it show that the return was accepted?   Or does it say something else---like "rejected," "printed," or "ready to mail?”

"Exempt US Bond Income" is the other way around - US Obligations that are Federally exempt but VA taxable - I don't have access to VA online only desktop but the help popup for this line refers to "income from interest or dividends on US obligations (bonds) or securities that is EXEMPT from federal taxes, you'll need to add that income, minus expenses, to your VA state return"   I'm not sure offhand what type of bond this would be as munis are not "US obligations" and muni additions for issues taxable in VA are covered automatically from the Fed return 1099 data.   The only scenario I've encountered needing special handling for Treasuries has been the treatment of Accrued Market Discount on discounted Treasury Notes reported on 1099-B which gets added to ordinary income but does not get subtracted automatically from state taxes (and there are different interpretations of this state by state).   Anyway - don't fill that in, it should be coming automatically from your 1099s.  Once you've specified the US Gov Obligation amount on the 1099-DIV that should be flowing automatically as a subtraction to 760 Line 7.  What do you see on that line?  If you don't see anything then I would go back over the 1099-DIV.
