You can navigate back to the section where you made the entries about the theft loss and delete them, whether you entered the loss in Schedule C or itemized deductions or elsewhere. You can then delete any unneeded forms that were created in TurboTax from your entries.
See this help article for instructions to delete a form in TurboTax Online. In TurboTax Desktop, go to Forms Mode by selecting Forms at the top of the screen and then searching the list of forms on the left side. You can delete a form once you select it by clicking Delete Form at the bottom of the display.
Casualty deductions apply to losses from unexpected events like natural disasters, theft, or accidents that damage your property. However, beginning with tax year 2018, a deduction is generally not available for net personal casualty losses (personal casualty losses in excess of personal casualty gains) unless the loss is caused by a federally declared disaster. If you have a business, you can account for the loss of business property on Schedule C or other business return.
