I'm receiving the same message when trying to file. Has this been fixed yet? I did the update and still the same error. Would like to E-file, vs having to print all the forms out and post them.
It kicked in for me on Feb. 20, as had been rumored.

In reference to earning less than $400 and not needing to file, that only counts for gross profit, which is sales less cost of goods sold. Since he received over $400 in service revenue, he does have to file a tax return.    There is a category for supplies on line 22, you should use that for things like whistles and similar small tools of the trade. Mileage would only be deductible if he paid for it and then only from one assignment to another, not from home to the game and back.

It's the desktop version for Windows. I understand what you're saying about manual entry, in fact I have done that just while waiting and poking around. There are literally so many depreciation periods to choose from it's over my head, but I will likely end up with exactly what you say unless another wizard has some advice. My goal is to Section 179 it, and hope for the best. Thank you for your comments. I don't understand why TT doesn't cover this in the step-to-step section or even have a help section for these type of entries.

As the title says, I am trying to activate my TurboTax 2025 desktop purchase which apparently requires me to sign in.  The sign in will not let me get past the captcha and just infinitely keeps asking me to click on more images.   There is no browser to close or cookies to clear, it's 100% inside of the TurboTax desktop app.

Wow. TurboTax, it's been nice but I just bought another Mac a few years ago just because TurboTax required it.  I'm  others - if you want me to buy a new Mac just to run your software, you are mistaken. That in my opinion was a horrible strategic decision.  Tax Cut only requires OS 12 on a Mac. I'm done forever with TurboTax. Amazing. That's millions in lost revenue.
Yes, you are correct. Keep updating your program. This  should be soon.

It looks like your Social Security number (SSN) was used as a dependent on another return filed for this year.   Review your information to check that your name and SSN match the information on your SS card.  If the information does not match, correct it and resubmit your return.     If the information matches, you will need to get an IP PIN from the IRS's Get an IP PIN site, enter it in your return and resubmitting your return.   If you do get an IP PIN to enter it in your return:   Open your return Go to IP PIN On the Identity Protection PIN screen, answer Yes. Select Add and enter your IP PIN in the space provided. Select Continue, then select Done.
This is not for Medicare Supplemental insurance, it is for Medicare B that is paid through my SS check.  I would think you have to include all amounts shown on a 1099 in order to not raise suspicion.
My payers FIN has an erroneous 'dash' in the middle of the number, which is not shown on the 1099-R. I cannot change it. How can you help?

La version « De luxe en ligne » achetée chez Costco indique « compatible avec la plupart des navigateurs sur un ordinateur Windows ou Mac »???? Est-ce que l’indication sur la boîte est erronée?
Would you happen to have any locked forms on your return? If not, when you try to NETFILE, what error message does it give to you?   Thank you for choosing TurboTax.

Yes he needs to file his own return for all the income.  Be sure on his return he checks the box t hat says he can be claimed by someone else.  He has to report all his income including the cash income.  Did you find the place to enter the cash?   Yes you can use Schedule C line 48 for misc  if you don't find a place that fits.    Supplies covers a lot of things.  Don't think you can enter your mileage.
I have not filed yet. I’d like to get it corrected so I can file electronically.

Yes.  If you file a joint return, then you can take a deduction for the contributions to both yours and your spouses IRA's even they do not work and you are the only one with income, as long as you meet the other requirements.  However, you cannot contribute a total for both accounts of  more than the total taxable compensation that you report on your return.   The Basics of a Traditional IRA
