Depende.

For the "amount to be carried back", this box is only used if you are filing a Section 1256 loss carryback to prior years (allowed for net losses only). Section 1256 contracts have a special rule: If you have a net loss on Section 1256 contracts for the year, the IRS allows you to carry that loss back up to 3 years — but only to years in which you had gains from Section 1256 contracts.   The good news is that most taxpayers never use the “Amount to be carried back” box at all, and TurboTax only shows it because the IRS allows a very specific, optional election. If this is the case, you may ignore this box.   @dhawal55

Oh.... if you had to ID Verify, you may have a significant wait.   A FAQ at the IRS website states that after ID verification, it "may" take up to 9 weeks to finish processing.   However, it doesn't necessarily take that long.  For many, it can be a lot sooner than that.    That's why they say "may" and "up to."   No one can tell you when that will be.  You'll just have to keep watching the WMR tool every few days.   Source:  Scroll down to see the FAQ for "Your Refund" at this page (under Help Topics)  https://www.irs.gov/identity-theft-fraud-scams/verify-your-return

If you received a "Success" message but your data hasn't appeared in TurboTax, it is likely due to recent browser security updates regarding Local Network Access.   To fix this you need to allow TurboTax to securely retrieve your data through your browser settings: Locate the View Site Information icon (the "tune" or "lock" icon) on the far left of your address bar, just before the URL. Find Local Network Access in the dropdown menu. Toggle the switch to ON. Refresh the page and attempt your import again. What do I do when my data isn't imported into TurboTax Desktop even though it says successful import in my browser? If permissions aren't the issue, one of the following factors may be at play: Brokerage Delays: While most forms arrive by January 31, many brokerages delay Consolidated 1099s (like the 1099-B) until mid-February due to complex reporting requirements. Availability: Your brokerage must specifically "release" the import file to TurboTax. If it isn’t ready, we recommend checking back. Connection Blocks: Active VPNs or aggressive Anti-Virus software can occasionally block the import feature between your bank and TurboTax. Try disabling them temporarily or switching to a different browser.
Why would my state credits for 2025 be more then what is listed on my W2's. I come up with a zero refund and turbo tax is stating a refund of $944.00. It makes no sense to me. What am I missing?

I suggest deleting the 1099-R from TurboTax and reentering it.   It would seem that when entering this From 1099-R you have somehow marked the box to indicate that the IRA was inherited.  Also, if the payer used code 4 in box 7 of the Form 1099-R, it indicates that the retirement account is being maintained for a beneficiary, not the original owner.

You can still report the home equity line of credit (HELOC) interest you paid even without a Form 1098 from your credit union. Use the statement showing the interest paid as your record. To report HELOC interest in TurboTax: 1. Go to the Federal section, then Deductions & Credits. 2. Find the Mortgage Interest, Refinancing, and Insurance section. 3. Choose to enter interest you paid even if you did not receive a Form 1098. 4. Enter the amount of interest paid as shown on your statement. Remember, the interest is deductible only if the loan was used to buy, build, or substantially improve your home. You can enter the interest amount manually using your statement as supporting documentation.
@MaryDalto What is the rejection message and rejection code you received when the tax return failed to e-file?
I need the cost of tuiton for the scholarships to go against it (and it's not from line 1 of the 1098-T)
En passant, même si c'est impossible qu'il n'y ait aucun code d'erreur, TurboImpôt a reçu, de ma part, une capture d'écran qui démontre qu'il n'y a aucun code d'erreur.

"For 2023, will the Taxable and Non-taxable amounts both be $0? since I did not do the Roth conversion during the year 2023 but instead did it in 2024 (for tax year 2023) before the tax deadline"   Correct.   For 2024, will the Taxable amount be $0 and Non-taxable amounts be $13500? Since I did the Roth conversion for both Tax years (2023 and 2024) in year 2024?   Correct.   If you made correct entries using TurboTax to prepare the tax returns for these years, this information should automatically transfer forward when you transfer in the previous year's tax return to begin the next year's tax return.
