This is copied from 2025 Iowa 1040 Expanded Instructions for Schedule 1, Line 7, regarding the modification to subtract retirement income from federal taxable income:   Note:  Distributions from the following plans are not eligible for the retirement income exclusion: (1) Nonqualified deferred compensation plans   (2) Nonqualified annuities - Most nonqualified annuity distributions will report a code of “D” in box 7 on federal form 1099-R   The program includes all 1099-R distributions, regardless of whether they are IRA Code 7 (qualified) distributions, or whether they are non-IRA Code D (non-qualified) distributions.     I'm thinking the non-qualified distributions should not be included.  I used override to change the amount, but the program has changed it back again.  In the end, it makes no difference to my return, as the Iowa taxable income is a negative regardless of whether or not the non-qualified annuity income is included on Schedule 1, Line 7.   Am I missing something? 1)  Some states have check-off donations in their tax forms. Thus, if your 2024 State tax return had a refund, and you designated to have some of it retained by the state, to go to some state charities/funds....then those $$ from last year might be included in the total.   ...or...maybe.. 2) When I was working, I had some of my paycheck go to the local United Way.  I seem to recall (but could be mistaken) that the way it was noted in my W-2 forms, that my donation amount was automatically added to the charity section.   @mkpullen

If you are both borrowers on the loan, and both owners of the house, then you divide the interest and taxes based on who paid what.  50/50, 60/40, or whatever.
Business expenses go on Schedule C.   Are you using Premium so that you can prepare a Schedule C?
@user17727234300 Enter the amount in box 1 of the Form 1099-R into box 16 for the state distribution.  This amount does not flow to the state tax return.
No, there is nothing to enter about having Medicare.   When it asks if you have a 1095A say NO to the question and just move on.

Are you able to log into your TurboTax account using a browser on your phone?  If so, once you log in, a screen should appear titled "Hi [name], let's keep working on your taxes!".  The main menu will be right below that with the first section being Personal Info.   It your signal (cellular or Wi-Fi) is weak, this may cause some pages to load slowly - having a strong signal will be helpful.   If you are still having issues, you may want to consider contacting us by phone at 800-446-8848.  That phone number is staffed from 5 AM to 9 PM PT every day during tax season.

The reason you don't see the new $6,000 Senior Deduction added to your "Standard Deduction" total is that the IRS has structured it as a separate line item this year. It does not reside on the same line as your Standard Deduction (Line 12), which is why your $15,750 + $2,000 calculation looks "original."   Instead, it is listed on  Form 1040, Line 13b as a separate line item. You can verify this by;   How to Preview Your 1040 Online   Sign in to your TurboTax account and open your return.  On the left-side menu, select Tax Tools (you may need to scroll down to see it).  Click on Tools in the dropdown menu. In the "Tools Center" pop-up window, select View Tax Summary. Once the summary page loads, look at the left-side menu again and click Preview my 1040. Look on line 13B to see if it is listed. If using the software, go to the forms mode, select Form 1040, and verify if $6000 is appearing on line 13b.

What is happening when you try to import?   If you received a "Success" message but your data hasn't appeared in TurboTax, it is likely due to recent browser security updates regarding Local Network Access.   To fix this you need to allow TurboTax to securely retrieve your data through your browser settings: Locate the View Site Information icon (the "tune" or "lock" icon) on the far left of your address bar, just before the URL. Find Local Network Access in the dropdown menu. Toggle the switch to ON. Refresh the page and attempt your import again. What do I do when my data isn't imported into TurboTax Desktop even though it says successful import in my browser? If permissions aren't the issue, one of the following factors may be at play: Brokerage Delays: While most forms arrive by January 31, many brokerages delay Consolidated 1099s (like the 1099-B) until mid-February due to complex reporting requirements. Availability: Your brokerage must specifically "release" the import file to TurboTax. If it isn’t ready, we recommend checking back. Connection Blocks: Active VPNs or aggressive Anti-Virus software can occasionally block the import feature between your bank and TurboTax. Try disabling them temporarily or switching to a different browser. Helpful TurboTax Articles: What if I can't import my 1099? How can I fix my 1099 import issue? How do I import my 1099s?
