My mom passed away on 12/30/2026.  When she filed her 2024 taxes she was due a refund of $1451 which she elected to apply to her 2025 return.  I am about to submit her final return for 2025 but no where do I see that $1451 credit applied.  It is line 26 on the 1040 but TurboTax never gave me a prompt to enter that information.

Gross proceeds will be the sales price, and they must not have tracked the cost basis if you did not have your investment with them since purchase. You are required to know the cost basis for any investment. This will include original purchase, and reinvested dividends if applicable.   If they list 'Gross Proceeds' less sales expense do not include that amount as part of your cost or sales expense. Follow the instructions to enter your investment sale.   Enter the information in TurboTax by using the steps below.  Open your TurboTax Online return: Select Tax Tools > Tools > Select Topic Search > Type 1099b  > Select GO (should be landed on 1099b) Select Add Investments if your 1099-B is not yet present in your list Continue to follow the prompts to enter the information yourself Open your return in TurboTax Desktop: Select Personal Income > Scroll to Investment Income > Select Stocks Cryptocurrency, Mutual Funds, Bonds, Other Start or Update > Continue to follow the prompts to enter your 1099-B details The sale of any investment is required to be included with your tax return, gain or loss.  Information from the link below may be helpful What is Form 1099-B: Proceeds from Broker Transactions?

To fix this you need to allow TurboTax to securely retrieve your data through your browser settings: Locate the View Site Information icon (the "tune" or "lock" icon) on the far left of your address bar, just before the URL. Find Local Network Access in the dropdown menu. Toggle the switch to ON. Refresh the page and attempt your import again. What do I do when my data isn't imported into TurboTax Desktop even though it says successful import in my browser? If permissions aren't the issue, one of the following factors may be at play: Brokerage Delays: While most forms arrive by January 31, many brokerages delay Consolidated 1099s (like the 1099-B) until mid-February due to complex reporting requirements. Availability: Your brokerage must specifically "release" the import file to TurboTax. If it isn’t ready, we recommend checking back. Connection Blocks: Active VPNs or aggressive Anti-Virus software can occasionally block the import feature between your bank and TurboTax. Try disabling them temporarily or switching to a different browser. Helpful TurboTax Articles: What if I can't import my 1099? How can I fix my 1099 import issue? How do I import my 1099s? How do I enter a large number of stock transactions in TurboTax?

Don't Amend your return if you're not sure what the issue is.  Sometimes the Refund Meter at the top of the page can be misleading, so it's best to check your actual documents.   In your saved PDF copy of your return, look at your Form 1040 to see the amount of your refund on Line 35a.  Possibly you were taxed on a pension differently than you expected, or more of your Social Security was taxable this year.  Check Lines 4a, 5a, and 6a for taxable amounts on these.  Any 'other income' would be on Line 8 (reported on Schedule 1).   Line 16 shows tax withheld on any income documents you entered. Make sure that agrees with your actual documents.    If you elected to pay TurboTax Fees from your refund, that would make a difference, for intermediary bank charges. If you used TurboTax Desktop, you can open your return and step through the FILE section, where you will get an Order Confirmation page showing TurboTax charges.     In TurboTax Online, open your return and go to 'Tax Tools >Tools'  in the left-side menu.  From the pop-up screen, choose 'My Fees'. Since you've already filed, at the Tax Home page, scroll down to 'Tax Returns and Documents' to select your 2025 return and select 'Download/Print Return' to get a PDF copy.   Once you've determined the source of the difference, you can post here again and we'll try to help.  Don't give up, you'll figure it out!   Here's more info on My Refund is Less Than Expected.   @huff67zo6

To claim income and expenses (including mileage expenses) for DoorDash on your tax return, you will use Schedule C, Profit or Loss From Business (Sole Proprietorship).   To enter self-employment income and expense in TurboTax Online, go to:   Wages & Income>Self Employment Income and Expenses   Follow the prompts to add your line work and enter details about that work.   You will then add your DoorDash income and related expenses (including vehicle information and business mileage).   Here is a TurboTax article on filing taxes for on-demand food delivery drivers.

You can deduct the property taxes, but only as an itemized deduction and there is a limitation of $40,000 on your total state tax deduction. It will only benefit you if your itemized deductions are more than your standard deduction. In 2025 the basic standard deduction for a single filer is $15,750 and $31,500 if filing married-joint.

Sounds like something got stuck. You can try these things:   Log Out Completely: Before doing anything else, click Sign Out in the TurboTax menu. Clear Cache and Cookies: This removes old, "corrupted" data that might be confusing the website. Use an Incognito (Private) Window: This is the most effective "quick fix" because it launches the browser without any saved history or extensions (like AdBlockers) that often interfere with tax forms. Check Pop-up Blockers: TurboTax often opens forms (like the 1099 PDF) or payment windows in a separate pop-up. Look at the right side of your address bar for a small icon with a "red X"—click it and select "Always allow pop-ups from Intuit." Restart the Browser: Close all open windows of your browser entirely and then reopen it.   Most TurboTax errors happen because the browser is trying to use an old "session" from a previous visit. By clearing the cache or using Incognito mode, you force the browser to establish a brand-new, secure connection with the Intuit servers.

Once your return is filed, TurboTax has no control over the processing or the timing when the IRS releases your refund.    The IRS states that most federal tax refunds are issued within 21 days of acceptance, however, some may take longer if they require additional review. Also, by law, the IRS cannot issue EITC or ACTC refunds before mid-February. This applies to your entire refund, not just the portion related to those specific credits.   Here are a few FAQs to help you track your refund: When will I get my federal tax refund? How do I track my state refund? Why does Where's My Refund say "approved" but TurboTax still says "accepted"? Why do some refunds take longer than others? What if my IRS refund is taking longer than 21 days?

jimbo   Based on the data you have given me, I don't see why TurboTax would have told you that you had $1,000 in excess contributions. If you would, please send us a copy of your return.    In order to pursue this issue and its rectification, I need a token from you. A token is a pointer to your tax data in our data base. However, the process of creating a token "sanitizes" your return so that all the personally identifiable information is removed. But I will need a sample return (but from a customer) in order to follow through with this.    The instructions below tell you how to create the token and send it to me. Thanks!   Online Log into your TurboTax Online tax return On the left, click on Tax Tools Under Tax Tools, click on Tools In Tools Center, click on Share my File with Agent TurboTax will give you a “token”, a number Post the token number in this thread Be sure to add to that post “@” “billm223” (without the space in between) so that I will be notified   Desktop Open your return in the desktop product Look along the top and click on Online Click on Send Tax File to Agent TurboTax will give you a “token”, a number Post the token number in this thread Be sure to add to that post “@” “billm223” (without the space in between) so that I will be notified
