Whether your Kaiser insurance is an High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) depends on the specific plan you chose from your employer.
For 2025, a plan is only an HDHP if the individual deductible is at least $1,650 or $3,300 for a family plan.
If your plan is a traditional health insurance plan with a low deductible or just small copays, it is not considered an HDHP.

I find on IRS that adoption carryover credits can be used for up to 5 years after the adoption is finalized. My son is now over 18, but wasn't when it was finalized.

I want to confirm: you had excess HSA contributions in 2024, but you withdrew them all before the original due date of the return (April 15, 2025). This is the $3,353.
If so, then when you are asked about last year's excess contribution, just enter zero. In fact, when you withdraw the excess in a timely manner, you answer "No" when you are even asked if you had an excess contribution, because by withdrawing the excess in a timely manner, you "cured" the excess.
You aren't supposed to have a 5329 in this case, because the 5329 reports on something like 9 different penalty situations, none of which apply to you since you withdrew the excess in a timely manner.
I keep working on my test, and it insists on showing $1,081 ( $1,020 plus $61) on line 8f (Schedule 1 1040). This is, of course, correct, though I cannot imagine why your return does not show the same thing.
But, of course, I am more concerned about your tax return than your HSA Summary. OK, go back and answer "No" to the question of "Did you overfund your HSA last year?". Then let's see what happens.

Yes, you need to report the dividend on your personal tax return and then pay the tax due and increase the basis of your IRA by the amount of the dividend that was added to it.

You can access and complete Schedule B of IT-203-F by going directly to the Forms view in TurboTax Desktop. In the interview (or on the Allocation Wks) when asked about the capital gains allocation, enter the same amount that is allocated to New York as a negative amount to zero it out. Then add that same amount as New York wage income in the income allocation for 2025. If you are using TurboTax Online, you have to indicate you want to allocate the income on your W-2 with the RSU income over multiple years on IT-203-F. Instead of completing Schedule A, complete Schedule B.

For the purposes of claiming the "No tax on tips" deductions, what you selected should be perfectly OK.

@user17718847748 See this link where Intuit approved my response. Solved: NY Inflation Refund Check and Form 1099-G My previous response was based on the fact that New York State has issued 1099-G forms for these payments. However, I personally believe the rebate is not taxable because it is a welfare payment based on the taxpayer's AGI; according to IRS guidelines, such payments are generally non-taxable. Ultimately, the IRS determines taxability, not the state. To be safe and avoid issues regarding unreported income for a relatively small amount, please refer to my previous reply for instructions on how to calculate it.

The overtime can't be more than 1/3 of your total wages, because only the overtime premium is deductible. The overtime premium will be far less than the total wages, since the total wages includes regular wages and overtime. It sounds like your company combined all total overtime on your W-2, but you'll need to manually compute the premium only.
Refer to your paystub from the last period in 2025. If your overtime is all on one line, and you are paid time-and-a-half, divide the amount by 3 to compute the deductible overtime.
If the overtime premium has a separate line (and is only the half portion of the time-and-a-half) you should enter the total overtime premium as deductible overtime.

If you qualify as Head of Household, when you enter your marital status (single or married filing separately) into MyInfo, and then enter your qualifying dependent, TurboTax will offer HOH as your filing status.

When you entered the 1099-R, you must have marked that it was military retirement which makes the program do the same thing as the M in box 16. Either one can tell the program to create the $20,000 exclusion you deserve. You should see it as a subtraction on CA 540, section A line 5. Great job entering the form and doing the research.

I'm not sure why, but TurboTax 2025 keeps bringing up the activation screen. I installed it once, and so far have had to activate it 3 times (out of the possible 5). It's the same computer. Windows 11. The OS hasn't changed, and the hardware hasn't changed. I haven't re-installed anything, including TurboTax itself, so what could it think has changed? Do the TurboTax updates trigger this? Yes, I've applied the normal Windows 11 updates, but that shouldn't cause TurboTax to think it's on a completely different computer, should it? This is causing me extra stress that I don't need. Will I be able to complete my taxes before my 5 activations run out? Only time will tell. But I can say for sure that I'm regretting buying TurboTax this year.

@medflyi
If you requested to have the TurboTax account fees deducted from your federal tax refund, the IRS will send the refund to a third party processor to have the fees and the $40 service charge deducted. The third party processor will deduct the TurboTax fees plus the $40 service charge and then attempt to direct deposit the remaining refund balance into the account that you entered on your tax return.
For the status of your tax refund you will need to contact the third party processor, Santa Barbara Tax Product Group, using their website - https://www.sbtpg.com/
