On your 1098, if Box 7 is checked, means that the lender states that the address given for the payer/borrower is the same as the address of the loan.  If box 7 is not checked and the address in box 8 is different, than Payer/borrower address, your interest may still be deductible.  The ability to enter the address in TurboTax does not affect the deductibility of the interest.  A different address could be a for a 2nd property that you own for which this interest would be deductible.  Or, it could be for a rental property as well.   Once you enter the information on the 1098, the next screen will ask if the mortgage interest is for a primary or second home or "other".  The first two options will allow the interest to be deductible as an itemized deduction.  If the property is a rental, the information from the 1098 will need to be entered as an expense for the rental property.
You need to wait until the IRS is done updating the 1040x and it is ready to efile. Check here for expected date and allow our team to incorporate the changes after that.
I assume because it would be too much of an administrative headache.  Folks rarely have those records...

Here are the similar steps for TurboTax Online:   1. When you get to the screen Let's Have Pennsylvania Calculate The Penalty answer No.   2. Click through the next two screens to get to Do you want to see if you qualify for any exceptions to the penalty? and answer Yes.   3. Answer questions on exceptions to penalty and if 2025 estimated payments were required. You will then see a screen showing if exception was met.   4. The following screen asks Did you earn your Pennsylvania income unevenly during 2025? Answer Yes then click Continue to get to screen where you can show annualized income.   I tested these steps in my TurboTax Online account and it worked, but reply if you are still having issues after going through these steps.

I called TT support and while we were waiting for WI state return reject for the fourth time, I asked what triggers an investigation to resolve this problem.  She indicated the more people that call about the same problem, the chance of an investigation increases.  I would recommend for those who have not yet done so, call Intuit Support at 1-800-446-8848 to report this problem. And ask if an investigation can be opened up or refer them to this thread.  Thanks.

So I got back 15,000 and some change this year I file with you guys find my W-2 with you guys out of 15 I only got 1400. I was supposed to get my refund at the last week of February the 1402 days ago I looked on the TurboTax app. I’m getting 600 and some change. Don’t know why I don’t understand. Nobody never call me. Nobody never sent me an email. I don’t understand now today I looked at I look on the app in my account. I get my refund from you guys. it’s only 130 something dollars so I don’t know where the rest of my money is going or I don’t know what I did wrong. I just want to speak to some money somebody other than texting somebody I don’t know if they’re human or not. I just want to speak to a human. I just want to speak to somebody that I can explain to me what’s going on and what happened to my taxes in my refund. Thank you.

I was "assessed" property tax for the first two quarters of 2026 and paid them in 2025.  Turbotax included those payments in calculating my refund (even though they were not "for calendar year 2025") - is this correct?  I can't find an answer anywhere and not on the NJ website.

Only the IRS and your State control when and if a Federal or State tax refund is Approved and Issued.   Once a tax return has been Accepted by the IRS or a State, TurboTax receives no further information concerning the tax return or the status of any tax refund.   If accepted by the IRS use the federal tax refund website to check the refund status - https://www.irs.gov/refunds If accepted by the state use this TurboTax support FAQ to check the state tax refund status - https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/track-state-refund/L3jgO8PGs_...   After the tax return has been Accepted by the IRS (meaning only that they received the return) it will be in the Processing mode until the tax refund has been Approved and then an Issue Date will be available on the IRS website.

First, check your e-file status to see if your return was accepted:  https://turbotax.intuit.com/tax-tools/efile-status-lookup/   Once your federal return has been accepted by the IRS, only the IRS has any control.  TurboTax does not receive any updates from the IRS. Your ONLY source of information about your refund now is the IRS.     You need your filing status, your Social Security number and the exact amount  (line 35a of your 2025 Form 1040) of your federal refund to track your Federal refund:    https://www.irs.gov/refunds   To track your state refund:     https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/track-state-refund/L3jgO8PGs_US_en_US?uid=lt447ebr   If you chose to have your TurboTax fees deducted from your federal refund, that will take some extra time, while the third party bank handles the refund processing     https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/refunds-take-longer-others/L14YlqFrH_US_en_US?uid=lexdr7zh . https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/irs-refund-taking-longer-21-days/L2vRAJbdU_US_en_US?uid=lexe7lst         If you are getting earned income credit on line 27 or additional child tax credit on line 28 You are subject to the delay required by the PATH act.  Do not expect your refund before early March   https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/internal-revenue-service/federal-refunds-delayed-due-path-act/L5jnQJsBi_US_en_US   Note:  “Accepted” is not the same as “approved”.  TurboTax tells you the e-file was accepted if the IRS deems that there is enough information on the return for them to take it in for processing.   Only the IRS can approve of the refund, which is a later stage of processing.  If the IRS approves your refund they will provide a date for the refund to be issued.   FROM THE IRS WHERE’S MY REFUND SITE: https://www.irs.gov/wheres-my-refund How it works Where's My Refund shows your refund status: Return Received – We received your return and are processing it. Refund Approved – We approved your refund and are preparing to issue it by the date shown. Refund Sent – We sent the refund to your bank or to you in the mail. It may take 5 days for it to show in your bank account or several weeks for your check to arrive in the mail.

I have a disallowed section 179 deduction on my 2024 return for rental property that I was not aware of until I completed my 2025 tax return and it came up as a disallowed carryover for 2025. I've researched how to correct the issue and I've amended my 2024 Federal and PA state return by simply depreciating the item. I mailed both amended returns this week to the IRS or State Revenue office as directed. In other words, my Section 179 error is corrected for 2024. It is not corrected however for 2025. I cannot seem to clear it on my 2025 return no matter what I do. I tried switching to Forms Mode as recommended and I manually deleted the carryover amount in line 10 I believe of Form 4562 and I manually updated the assets depreciation input to match my amended 2024 table. I set the carryover amount to "0". I thought that would fix the problem, but when I run a check, it still comes up as an error to correct, but now the box contains a zero.  How do I clear this error?? Once corrected, do I need to wait until my 2024 amended return is resolved to file 2025? Will I need to file an extension for 2025 since it can take 16 weeks to process? Thanks!! I hope you can help me.
