Since your return has already been accepted, you will need to wait until it is fully processed before filing an amendment.    You can try to cancel the scheduled California direct debit through your FTB MyFTB account, or by contacting the FTB at least two business days before the payment date.   If the payment is processed, it'll simply be credited to your account and reconciled when you amend your tax return.   Once your tax return is completely processed, you can Amend (Form 1040-X) to first correct your federal return, then update California so Form 540NR-X is generated automatically.   Amend TurboTax CD/Download

The program is expected to be updated Friday the 27th so check back this weekend and update your program, since you use desktop.   Line 18 used for credit calculates the AOTC or LLC and  I assume you are saying you are not eligible but the program is giving you the credit.   If the problem is the Q covering all of the education expenses along with room and board, then you don't need to enter the T or the Q. If the Q covers room and board and some of the education expenses, you would want to the enter the T and claim the remainder on your taxes.   For example: Q for $20,000 T box 1 $20,000  Obviously, use the Q for room and board first, say $12,000. Then $8k is used for education. The Q is not entered in the program. IRS Publication 970, Tax Benefits for Education states that nontaxable distributions should not be entered. The T is entered as box 1 $8k. The T is an informational form, not a tax form so you can correct it or not use it. @pallan

TurboTax's system is strictly programmed for 10-digit US phone numbers. If you are entering an international number (even with a + or country code), it will flag it as invalid every time.    Use a "Dummy Number" or a trusted US contact's number. The IRS does not call taxpayers; they correspond via physical mail.  The Format: Enter a standard 10-digit US format like 800-555-1212. As far as help with your LLC, this is Out of Scope for TurboTax. The IRS requires the following because it is 25% or more foreign-owned:   Form 5472 & Pro Forma 1120: These are informational returns used to report "reportable transactions" (including your own capital contributions to the LLC or paying yourself). TurboTax Limitation: TurboTax (including the Business version) does not support the "Pro Forma" 1120 nor Form 5472 required to be filed for foreign-owned disregarded entities. You typically have to mail or fax these specific forms to the IRS.  Please select this link for more information how to download and file your forms. This link has a lot of useful information that will prove beneficial to you.   Filing requirements for US single-member LLCs owned by nonresident aliens (NRAs): Form 5472 + pro forma Form 1120

The IRS rarely denies waivers if you have already withdrawn the missed RMD amount. You must report that you have "corrected" the missed RMD by taking the distribution, and state that it was due to reasonable error.   Check Form 5329: Review the form in FORMS mode in TurboTax. If your explanation for the missed RMD was accepted, the penalty on Form 5329, Line 55 should show as 0.   If you still see a penalty after fixing the issue, re-answer the questions regarding the RMD in the, "Let's go over any required minimum distributions (RMD)" section, as this refreshes the calculation.  You could delete Form 5329 before stepping though the section to be sure.   @Mamaw2

Do you have a business set-up in TurboTax that the 1099-NEC is linked to?  The 1099-NEC has to flow to a Schedule C (Form 1040), Profit or Loss from Business (Sole Proprietorship) in order for the income to show up anywhere.  If you haven't set up your business yet see the following:   To set up a Schedule C business in TurboTax, go to Federal, select Wages & Income, and find Business Income and Expenses (Sch C) under "Self-employment".  The program will guide you through the process.

Did you e-file your tax return and was it accepted? Only the IRS and your State control when and if a Federal or State tax refund is Approved and Issued.   You complete your tax return by finishing all 3 Steps in the File section. In Step 3, to e-file your tax return, you must click on the large button labeled "Transmit my returns now".   After completing the File section and e-filing your tax return you will receive two emails from TurboTax. The first email when your tax return was transmitted and the second email when the tax return has either been accepted or rejected.   Note - Once a tax return has been Accepted by the IRS or a State, TurboTax receives no further information concerning the tax return or the status of any tax refund.  Only the taxpayer listed on the tax return can obtain the status of a tax refund or a tax return.   To check the status of an e-filed return, open up your desktop product or log into your TurboTax Online Account. You can find your status within the TurboTax product. If accepted by the IRS use the federal tax refund website to check the refund status - https://www.irs.gov/refunds If accepted by the state use this TurboTax support FAQ to check the state tax refund status - https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/track-state-refund/L3jgO8PGs_...   After the tax return has been Accepted by the IRS (meaning only that they received the return) it will be in the Processing mode until the tax refund has been Approved and then an Issue Date will be available on the IRS website.
