My origianl message indicated that these were capital gains. They are actually considered Accured Market Discounts. These are federally considered taxable interest but they are NJ Tax free. How do I make TurboTax treat this a state tax free?

Delete the Schedule C and 1099-MISC again and this time when you re-enter the 1099-MISC, answer the question about how often you receive this income to 2025 ONLY. If you regularly receive the income, TurboTax will apply it to Self-Employment and place it on Schedule C. If you answer as follows, the income goes to Other Income - Line 8 of Schedule 1- Form 1040. As you enter the form: After you enter the reason for the 1099-Misc, mark None of the above on the next screen (uncommon situations). Answer Did the refund involve work that's like your main job? NO Answer How often did you get income for refund? You got it in 2025 only Answer Did the refund involve an intent to earn money? NO How to delete forms in TurboTax Online How to delete forms in TurboTax Desktop If you treat your forest land as a business, you would typically report this on Schedule C. (counts as self-employment) If you are a farmer, it goes on Schedule F. (counts as self-employment) If you are an investor/individual and the land is for personal or investment use, it is generally reported as "Other Income" on Schedule 1 (Form 1040).

If the transfer to a Roth IRA is for the beneficiary (not you as recipient) they can report it on their own return (if required to file). Otherwise, the Form 1099-Q and Form 5498 reporting the transfer is sufficient for your records. You may also get a 1099-R from the 529 plan administrator showing the non-taxable transfer.
As long as you made this as a trustee-to-trustee transfer (where the funds went directly to your Roth IRA from the 529 plan) and you did not exceed the $7,000 contribution limit, you do not need to report the transaction at all.
If the 1099-Q distribution was for qualified education expenses (excluding the Roth transfer), you're not required to report it in your return. Here's more detailed info on Form 1099-Q.
For more details, see IRS Pub. 970, Page 53.

If not, then go to this IRS website for information on reduced refunds - https://www.irs.gov/taxtopics/tc203
Are you also receiving a state tax refund? If so, the state refund is sent directly to you based on how you chose to receive the state tax refund. The return is pretty simple and there is no entry of $450. This is not after adjustments, it is supposedly pulled from my federal 1040 line 15 (which is $0). Is a negative number a problem? Turbotax says my audit risk is low so maybe I don't worry about it because my refund would be the same regardless of 0 or -450 of federal income.

Probably not. For income tax purposes, the factors that need to be present for the special rules for religious employment (pastor/clergy) are that you perform sacraments, perform worship services, and are in a position to control, conduct or maintain a religious organization. Church lay employees (custodian, Sunday school teachers, etc.) are almost never considered religious employees within the meaning of these rules. Most choir directors I have known have been lay employees, but it would depend on your duties. Performing sacraments is probably the big one. If you aren't recognized by your denomination to perform weddings and baptisms and other sacraments, then you aren't a religious worker for tax purposes.

1. Yes, the nonresident/part-year form 1-NPR is available. You can check forms availability each year here. Choose online or which desktop version.
2. Reciprocity does exist and you want to give the W-220 form to your employer to stop withholding WI taxes. Once you are being taxed correctly, you will not need to file a WI return at all - in the future.
3. Owe WI is incorrect. Your WI income should be zero with a full refund. In the WI return:
in step by step mode for desktop or using online, complete your WI return
be sure you have marked your legal residence as MI for the full year.
as you go through the WI return, look for a screen that says Wages exempt from income
enter your full WI wages.
4. You do owe MI for the full amount this year. Next year, when the proper MI tax is withheld, you won't have the problem.

Thanks for the reply. My entire proceeds in not $0.08 that is just the amount that my 1099DA differs from my csv file. For example, let's say my proceeds on my 1099DA is $2,064. 38 and my calculated proceeds off my csv is $2,064.30. This is an example of what I am incurring. The dollar amount is correct, but the cents is off by $0.08. Will this be an issue to report $2,064.30 versus the $2,064.38?

Only the $2,150 will appear on line 8f of your 2025 Schedule 1. This is accomplished by telling TurboTax in the HSA contributions section that you will have the $2,150 excess returned. TurboTax will still show $4,300 on line 9 of Form 8889. That's fine. The 2026 excess returned plus all of the NIA will appear on line 8f of your 2026 Schedule 1. This is accomplished by telling TurboTax in the HSA contributions section that you will have the that excess returned and by entering the 2026 Form 1099-SA in the HSA distributions section.
