My wife is a realtor and we traded her car in last October. I answered all the questions in her Schedule C regarding Disposing of the old car and the adding of the new car. I just ran a Smart Check and it has sent me to Schedule C -- Car & Truck Expenses Worksheet -- Part VII, Line 51 and Line 52 which have a value in them that I didn't enter anywhere. They are both RED, and Smart Check says "AMT dep allowed/allowable is too large. For disposition calculations, depreciation cannot exceed business basis." It obviously knows what the maximum value is but doesn't tell me. But the real problem is, I can't type in the fields to even try other values. How do I figure out the value that should be there and how do I set it?

NY state return in TurboTax does not allow to exclude my federal annuity from income, if I am under full retirement age. NY law is that federal annuity is excluded from income at ANY age. See here https://www.tax.ny.gov/pit/file/information_for_seniors.htm , "If you received a pension or other distribution from a New York State or local government pension plan or federal government pension plan, you may subtract the amount of distribution that was included in your federal adjusted gross income, regardless of your age or of the form the payment(s) take. " When Intuit is going to fix this bug? I was there last year, too.
I agree. It is also a moot point to banter about the efficacy of the decision to eliminate support for Windows 10 re the desktop, personal, versions of TurboTax.
I disagree. For every one person coming here to complain and throw a red flag on the field about this stupid move for TT, how many others out there are NOT coming here, but dissatisfied and angry too?  How many people picked up their copy of TT, as usual, for the tax year and then discovered that it would not install on their Windows 10 machine? How many of those people have taken back their copy to the store where it was purchased demanding their money back? And how many of those retail stores might decide to no longer carry the product because of the headaches the product is causing them?  Perhaps TT is overlooking the possibility that this decision might have been penny wise but dollar foolish.  Seems to me that they did this before, but the details escape me. But apparently they have management issues that needs to be addressed.  IMHO, of course.

It depends. If you are referring to the child tax credit it depends on your income.  IF you don't have any taxable income after your standard deduction (or itemized deductions), then you would likely be eligible for the refundable portion, not the full amount. Please review the requirements and then you can view your 1040 to see if you are receiving the refundable portion of $1,700. Child Tax Credit Requirements From the left rail menu in TurboTax Online, select Tax Tools (You may have to scroll down on the left rail menu.) Select Tax Tools On the drop-down select Tools On the pop-up menu titled “Tools Center”, select View Tax Summary  On the left sidebar, select Preview my 1040  For TurboTax Desktop, change to 'Forms' and review the forms    @guadalupesierra2286

I entered my long-term capital loss carryover in the Federal section, and TurboTax filled it in correctly on the Federal Carryovers/Carryforwards Worksheet. However, the State Carryovers/Carryforwards Worksheet is blank on that line. Am I supposed to add it in manually? How do I do that?
I purchased the desktop software for Turobtax, but my operating system is not compatible. Can I get a refund? I never entered the product code

The “senior deduction” is added automatically by the software based on the date of birth and filing status you entered into MY INFO.  You do not need to take any extra steps to enter it. (And…the new senior deduction has nothing to do with whether you are getting Social Security)     2025 STANDARD DEDUCTION AMOUNTS SINGLE $15,750  (65 or older/legally blind + $2000) MARRIED FILING SEPARATELY $15,750  (65 or older/legally blind +1600) MARRIED FILING JOINTLY $31,500  (65 or older/legally blind + $1600) HEAD OF HOUSEHOLD $23,625 (65 or older/legally blind + $2000)     For 2025 through 2028 there is an extra  deduction amount of up to $6000 per individual 65 or older filing Single, MFJ, or HOH which is phased out for taxpayers with modified adjusted gross income over $75,000 for single filers and $150,000 for joint filers.   (The deduction phases out completely at $175.000 Single or HOH, or $250,000 joint)   The $6,000 senior deduction will be calculated on 1040 Schedule 1-A page 2 Part V Enhanced Deduction for Seniors which goes to 1040 line 13b. It is separate and in addition to the Standard Deduction or your Itemized Deductions on 1040 line 12e.  Turbo Tax automatically includes it. You mentioned "low income", but we do not know what amount you mean by that ----the amount of the refundable additional child tax credit is based on how much income you earned from working.  If you only earned a low amount, you will not get the full $1700 of ACTC.     The maximum amount of the child tax credit is now $2200 per child; the refundable “additional child tax credit” amount is $1700.   In order to get that credit, you have to have income from working.   Take the amount you earned from working.   Subtract $2500.   Multiply the rest by 15%.  That is the additional child tax credit per child that you canget—- up to the maximum of $1700 per child.   If the amount you earned from working was low, you will not get the full $1700 per child.    If your child is older than 16 at the end of 2025, you do not get the CTC.  But you may still get the non-refundable $500 credit for other dependents instead.   https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/taxation/child-tax-credit/L2lNhfGDl_US_en_US?uid=m68dfq2u   https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/taxation/additional-child-tax-credit/L6xFeMFEf_US_en_US?uid=lqnuygah https://www.irs.gov/help/ita/does-my-childdependent-qualify-for-the-child-tax-credit-or-the-credit-for-other-dependents     And for the Earned Income Credit—-   https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-credits-deductions/qualifications-earned-income-credit-eic-eitc/L7w4BFP32_US_en_US?uid=m62rmz09   https://www.irs.gov/credits-deductions/individuals/earned-income-tax-credit/use-the-eitc-assistant   https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/p596.pdf   Look at your 2025 Form 1040 to see the child-related credits you received   PREVIEW 1040 https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-return/preview-turbotax-online-return-filing/L77WCkvnu_US_en_US?uid=m681fkhr   Child Tax Credit line 19 Credit for Other Dependents line 19 Earned Income Credit line 27 Additional Child Tax Credit line 28     AND….If you have children but had  little or no income, it raises the question of how you and the children were supported.  There may be another tax-paying adult who can claim you and/or the children as dependents.
