I entered my long-term capital loss carryover in the Federal section, and TurboTax filled it in correctly on the Federal Carryovers/Carryforwards Worksheet. However, the State Carryovers/Carryforwards Worksheet is blank on that line. Am I supposed to add it in manually? How do I do that?

In TurboTax Online, this will be entered during the initial interview questions as you start the California return. If you navigate to Tax Home > State taxes > California & select Revisit
During the interview screens that ask you about Residency status, etc., you should eventually see a menu that looks like this one (example):
That is where you will enter your state capital loss carryovers for the year.
Thank you for that detailed answer, but I am using TurboTax Business on the Desktop and I don't see anything that looks like that. Do you know where I would find that section in the Desktop version? thank you
