Sounds like something got stuck. You can try these things:   Log Out Completely: Before doing anything else, click Sign Out in the TurboTax menu. Clear Cache and Cookies: This removes old, "corrupted" data that might be confusing the website. Use an Incognito (Private) Window: This is the most effective "quick fix" because it launches the browser without any saved history or extensions (like AdBlockers) that often interfere with tax forms. Check Pop-up Blockers: TurboTax often opens forms (like the 1099 PDF) or payment windows in a separate pop-up. Look at the right side of your address bar for a small icon with a "red X"—click it and select "Always allow pop-ups from Intuit." Restart the Browser: Close all open windows of your browser entirely and then reopen it.   Most TurboTax errors happen because the browser is trying to use an old "session" from a previous visit. By clearing the cache or using Incognito mode, you force the browser to establish a brand-new, secure connection with the Intuit servers.

@excelpump7867    Enter your W-2, and on the first page after it, there is a page with a bunch of checkboxes....there is one that you check to start entering your Overtime amounts.
enter the 1099-R first, then CONTINUE and answer the questions, stating what you did.

For the love of God. Listen to the millions of people on here and on other social media platforms. This is truly the worst tax service tool you can use. They literally tricking you into opening a checking account. Nobody had answers to why the advances are not coming. I filled with turbo tax for about 4 straight years and for the first time ever I decided to use their tax advance feature. And it’s truly a horror story to say the least. Definitely not using them ever again

For sake of discussion: my RMD for all my retirement accounts (4 different brokerages one 401(k) and 3 traditional IRA) was $170k; I did a withdrawal in December of $170k from one of the traditional IRAs (my advisor said I could do that); I drew out the correct amount - it's just that I didn't draw a portion from the 401(k) .That number should be reported on my TT return-correct?  I still have the dilemma of the 401(k) since nothing has been withdrawn from it as is required.  Does that now get reported on my return for 2026? I will get a 1099 from the brokerage holding the 401(k) account (I checked)  although I withdrew nothing; I'm guessing that the 1099 will show the required amount of withdrawal? Hope this helps you see where I'm still confused about how to properly handle this.

Same thing for me.  I closed the app, restarted, and then it transferred the selected 2024 file that it would not transfer initially.

@MPxo    The first week that the IRS starts...they have millions of tax returns waiting to be processed. Thus.....they only take small batches at one time....all week long until they are all processed, so yours may be sitting on the TTX servers ..waiting for the IRS to actually access your file..   AND they pull a small % of the files Randomly from all the software tax providers.....not just TTX. To do too many at one time and their computers crash...and then it's chaos.   SO you just have to wait until they get to yours.   A couple weeks from now, 24-48hrs will be normal....but not this week...and maybe not next week either.

Yes, I just spoke to a taxpayer who faced this same issue. It is very puzzling to be missing this screen because collecting contribution information from you is one of the major reasons for the HSA interview (Step-by-Step).   As I recall, the taxpayer did an "HSA Reset", process by which you remove all your HSA data (including some that you do not know that you have), so that you can start over. The "Let's enter [your name]'s HSA contributions screen will then appear to let you enter contributions that you made directly to your HSA custodian.   Just remove all HSA data as shown below.    HSA RESET ***Reset***   1. make a copy of your W-2(s) (if you don't have the paper copies) 2. delete your W-2(s) (use the garbage can icon next to the W-2(s) on the Income screen)   *** Desktop***   3. go to View (at the top), choose Forms, and select the desired form (1099-SA (if one), 8889-T, and 8889-S (if one)). Note the Delete Form button at the bottom of the screen.   *** Online ***   3. go to Tax Tools (on the left), and navigate to Tools->Delete a form  4. delete form(s) 1099-SA (if one), 8889-T, and 8889-S (if one)   5. go back and re-add your W-2(s), preferably adding them manually 6. go back and redo the entire HSA interview....
When is almost the end of process I am getting this error : Payment error Whoops! We hit a snag loading your data. Please try again.
Thank you for pointing this out. We are revising the instructions for how to enter a backdoor Roth IRA in TurboTax Desktop.

Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the online program screen. Click on Tools. Click on View Tax Summary. Click on Preview my 1040 on the left side of the screen.
What bonus pay?   Did you get bonus pay from your employer?   It should be included in your W-2 with your other income.   If you are uncertain of that, ask the employer.
Any Bonus you received in 2025 should already be accounted for on your W-2 with the amount included in box 1.
