I am not able to enter information regarding home energy credits.  I am told that updates are up to date.  The program is still showing "available soon".

Yes, the recommended workaround for this experience is to remove/delete the amount from the QBI column on the Carryovers to 2025 Smart Worksheet that appears with the Smart Check message. This edit is especially applicable if you had no carryovers on your prior year return. Plus, it will allow the worksheet to pass final review so you can file your federal return.
Received 3 emails that my computer update is available. Opened my tax form and it is still not there and says it is current.
Thank you DoninGA! This worked! It's too bad the help topics send you on a wild goose chase to find where to enter estimated tax payments.

When you say you have been pay taxes on your military pension for the past 3 years, do you mean federal taxes have been withheld from them? On your 1099R, is there federal income tax withheld in Box 4? Your tax liability (taxes you owe) also depends on any other income you have on your tax return. Do you have other income?   Is this issue resolved yet and have you found out that you should not be paying taxes on your military pension and filed a 1040X for those years?

Home and Business Desktop user.  Step By Step still says Unavailable.  I did receive an email that the form was ready over the weekend but it is still not available.   I tried going to the forms version to complete it that way but was unable to complete the form that way.   Very frustrating!    I am due a refund and would like to file electronically today!   The mixed messaging is making matters worse for users!

Me and my husband (both 19 he’s in the army) got married in November 2025. My parents still plan on claiming me on their taxes. How do I allow them to claim me while being married? My husband tried to file his taxes and got the error “F1040-461 - If Form 1040, 'SpouseClaimAsDependentInd' is checked, then the filing status of the return must be married filing jointly.” thanks in advance

Although the forms availability table indicates that Form 4562 is ready to e-file, the final update for depreciation calculations has not been released. No specific date has been given.   We recommend that you wait a few days for additional TurboTax Online updates to be released, which should resolve the experience you're having with Depreciation. As the message states, you will receive an email when the section is ready.

I was able to apply and was pre-approved. After the IRS accepted my return, I received a notification that I was denied. I’m not sure why. I don’t not owe the IRS or any debt, I am expected to get back well over $500, I’m over 18. I wish I wasn’t pre approved because then I wouldn’t have proceeded with requesting the advance.
Ahhh...excellent idea. Just suspend any calculations while the RMD amount, and how much was RMD selections are being made.

Everyone's tax situation is different and the complexity of your tax situation, meaning the forms needed to file your return, determines if you qualify for the TurboTax Free Edition.   The TurboTax Free Edition is strictly limited to simple Form 1040 returns. If your return requires additional schedules to report specific types of income or to claim certain credits, the system will prompt you to upgrade to TurboTax Deluxe or higher.   Here are the most common reasons you would be required to upgrade to a paid version: Unemployment Income: If you received a 1099-G for unemployment benefits, this is no longer covered under the Free Edition for the 2025 tax year. Itemized Deductions: If you are claiming deductions for mortgage interest, property taxes, or large charitable contributions on Schedule A instead of taking the standard deduction. Investment Income: Reporting stock sales, cryptocurrency transactions, or rental property income. Self-Employment/Gig Work: If you have 1099-NEC or 1099-K income and need to deduct business expenses on Schedule C. Education Credits: Claiming the American Opportunity Tax Credit or Lifetime Learning Credit (Form 8863). To see if you have forms that are not included in the free edition: Sign in to your TurboTax Online account. Select Tax Tools from the left menu and then click Tools. Click on View Tax Summary. Look for Schedules 1, 2, or 3. If any of these are present (other than for the Student Loan Interest deduction or the EITC/Child Tax Credit), an upgrade is required. If you want to start over to remove an accidental entry:  Select Tax Tools  Clear and Start Over  This will erase all data entered so far
I am having the same issue   I don't have Microsoft Visual program listed, so removing that is not an option - any other solutions out there?

Sounds like something got stuck. You can try these things:   Log Out Completely: Before doing anything else, click Sign Out in the TurboTax menu. Clear Cache and Cookies: This removes old, "corrupted" data that might be confusing the website. Use an Incognito (Private) Window: This is the most effective "quick fix" because it launches the browser without any saved history or extensions (like AdBlockers) that often interfere with tax forms. Check Pop-up Blockers: TurboTax often opens forms (like the 1099 PDF) or payment windows in a separate pop-up. Look at the right side of your address bar for a small icon with a "red X"—click it and select "Always allow pop-ups from Intuit." Restart the Browser: Close all open windows of your browser entirely and then reopen it.   Most TurboTax errors happen because the browser is trying to use an old "session" from a previous visit. By clearing the cache or using Incognito mode, you force the browser to establish a brand-new, secure connection with the Intuit servers.
I'm not asking for an IRA deduction, I'm asking to TurboTax to handle the Roth conversion, but it's not doing it. 1/25/2026
I have not found a way to resolve this - have you?   I see posts about removing Visual Studio but I do not have that app
When I go to File - New Return, it asks Do you want to save this file? Should I hit yes? I just want the 2 returns to show up and be able to worked on when I pull up the Turbotax software
If you already e-filed it is too late to seek the advance. https://ttlc.intuit.com/turbotax-support/en-us/help-article/tax-refund/refund-advance/L52Mg0G5u_US_en_US?uid=mit7zs6h
