When you get to the screen that says, "Get your federal refund faster" and it gives the option of Fast deposit to Credit Karma or a bank account, select "No thanks". The next screen is "How would you like to receive your federal refund?" If you are eligible for the Refund Advance, you will see this as an option.   The Refund Advance is not available to everyone.    Here are a couple things to check: If you are using a TurboTax partner affiliate link to use the software, the Refund Advance will not be available. If you select the 5 Day Early Refund Delivery, you will not see the Refund Advance option, but you can return to the refund selection page and find all the options listed. See this resource for more information:  Offer details and disclosures for the Refund Advance  program   Refund Advance Eligibility Here are some of the eligibility requirements to qualify for a Refund Advance loan: You’re 18 or older Your expected federal refund amount is $500 or more You’re not a resident of North Carolina, Connecticut, or Illinois You’re e-filing your federal tax return with TurboTax Your physical address is listed on your tax return. You probably answered something incorrectly in MY INFO.   Go back to MY INFO, click the child’s name  and go through all of the interview questions carefully and slowly.  Read every screen top to bottom.     Make sure you have entered your child as a dependent in My Info, and that you have entered the child's Social Security number.    Careful— do not say that your child’s SSN is not valid for employment.  If your child was born in 2025 make sure you said he lived with you the whole year.  There is an oddly worded question that asks if the child paid over half their own support.  Say NO to that question.   If your dependent was a full-time college student, make sure you were careful on the MY INFO screen for “Uncommon situations” and that you indicated there that they were a student.   "Full-time student" is relevant if he is a college student.   If he is in high school you do not have to say he is a student.
It's still not available in my Turbo Tax Deluxe Windows version, either.

Try these steps to see if this will correct the issue.   Enter the 1099-R exactly as it appears: Ensure Box 7 has your code (likely G for a direct rollover or 7 for a normal distribution) and that the IRA/SEP/SIMPLE box is checked. When TurboTax asks, "Tell us if you moved the money through a rollover or conversion," select the option: "I rolled over some or all of it to an IRA or other retirement account. The very next screen often asks, "Did you roll over all of this to a Roth IRA?" * Select NO. If it then asks if you moved it to a Traditional IRA, select YES. Let us know if this works.

From a tax point of view, there is no difference between income derived from a side job and income from a business such as a sole proprietorship. They are both self-employment income.   You can deduct expenses which are necessary to generate that income and you pay self-employment tax on top of income tax.

I am trying to enter my energy-efficient boiler information on Form 5695. The software requires a "Qualified Manufacturer ID" (QMID). The official IRS-registered code for Amana/Daikin/Goodman is I7Q6. However, TurboTax is blocking the entry with a validation error stating the format must be "Letter-Number-Letter-Number." Because  I7Q6 starts with a number, the software will not allow me to proceed. This is a legitimate IRS code from the manufacturer's certification statement. Is Turbotax working on a fix this on their end? I owe on my taxes and already paid to file with the withdrawal happening on 02/02/26. What happens if I cannot efile before then?

@dmertz    I joined a single HDHP on July 1 and am over age 55. Using the last month rule, my HSA contribution limit is $5300.  I opened a private HSA because my employer doesn't offer a sponsored HSA even though they offer ab HDHP.  I have a 403b from a former employer at TIAA.  I rolled over $5000 from the 403b to a traditional IRA (also at TIAA), then rolled over $5003 from the IRA into the HSA as a QHSAFD.  I then contributed an additional $297 out of pocket.   At tax time, I only have one 1099-R from TIAA in the amount of $5000 with code G.  There is no 1099-R for the QHSAFD.  When reporting HSA contributions, Turbotax asks about contributions but does not ask about rollovers.  Line 10 of form 8889 is blank.    Did I screw up or Turbotax?

You will not be able to prepare Form 8962 on the Free Edition. If you are using a TurboTax Online product, you will need to upgrade to The Deluxe edition or higher. If after upgrading to the TurboTax version you are still getting this error, remove the form altogether and enter it again. This usually fixes this error.    You can manually review a section or delete a specific form/worksheet in 2 different ways. To manually review a section, you will manually go there and click the trash icon next to the section you want to remove. It is not recommended to delete a form or worksheet directly; instead we recommend to go over each specific section of the return from the beginning, double-check your entries and answers, and remove any necessary information.    To delete that specific Form, see the applicable link below   How to Delete a Form on TurboTax Online   How to Delete a Form on TurboTax Desktop

You can claim her, but you lose the child tax credit.   You now get the non-refundable $500 credit for other dependents instead.
Try recording the numbers without spaces or hyphens. If that doesn't work, record the first 14 numbers of the state id number.
